I looked at this car when it first came out. It was good then but there were a number of corrections needed. They have made all of them, and then some. Great car.

car is great. There were a few issues that needed to be fixed right off the bat: the ventilating and heating of the driver seat didnt work, and the rear-view camera was glitchy, both of which needed repairs - the mirror needed to be repaired TWICE, finally ending in replacement of the mechanism. It was annoying to have to bring a brand-new car to the shop three times in the first month of ownership.

Ioniq 5 SEL

Very impressed with this vehicle. Ride, handling, and quality of build are excellent. Areas for improvement are the steering, ESC, interior light display of the AC controls, and the key. The steering is overly heavy, but provides almost no feel of the road. This is especially bad when on a wet winding road. The ESC is overly intrusive. Instead of gradually reducing power to eliminate a skid, it abruptly cuts the power. I have had times when turning in front of oncoming traffic from a stop, it completely cuts the power. This can be dangerous. I normally drive with the ESC off. During the day with bright light there are times when the AC light cluster can be very hard to see. Recommend making those lights brighter. The key fob is big and bulky, and then you still have to attach the physical key to it. I have never seen this before and it is a very poor design.

So nice, I bought it twice...

This is my second Ioniq 5, my first was a 2023 and all of the things that bothered me about that car, (and there weren't many), were corrected in the 2026 model.

Towed at age of two months

Loved the car until it got towed to the dealer for a two week repair when it was about two months old . When I got the car home another warning light was lit requiring a return trip to the dealer an hour after picking it up

So far seems to be driving great , everything seems to be working fine

Fabulous!

It's just good

The Ioniq 5 is easy to drive, easy to charge, and great on road trips. We mostly charge from a 120v wall outlet and only need more when we are on a road trip. The car is used for a commute 3-4 times a week and is not charged at work. You do not need a level 2 charger as long as you can plug it into a standard outlet at home.

Lovi it but should have bought the Limited

Love most things about the car but main disappointment is the seats. They're hot! Wish the material was at least perforated or had the ventilated seats in the limited. Other than that the car is well equipped and fun to drive.

The Ioniq5 limited has a lot of extras that are par with other EV's in same class. Nice ride, infotainment system takes a bit to get used to. Wish list for car keeps growing the more you use it.

Fun to drive

In Sport Mode the Ioniq 5's handling is similar to my 1959 AC Bristol. The Ioniq 5 posts 10% better 0 to 60 and 13% better quarter mile times than the AC Bristol. In 1959 the AC Bristol won its class at Le Mans and placed well in other international races.
