My car isn't even 6 months old. Horrible service.

I got my car in Feb/March and its been at the dealer for over a month now waiting for a part to replace yet another defected part. But waiting a month on a new car for a full battery replacement is a little ridiculous and its getting out of hand. Im essentially paying for a month of driving around a loaner. And it took almost a week for them to get me a loaner and I was the one that had to hound them for it. I even gave them 3 days to get my loaner and after 3 days I never heard back from them. I had to hunt them down cause they kept giving me the "we have no more loaners right now" "try again tomorrow" like... I cant drive my car and now you basically aren't even giving me a car to drive.

I love everything about this car but the software

The drive is excellent, the feel is excellent, the road noise, everything is fantastic. Some issues that have been annoying: 1. Charging can be finicky when I'm not paying for it. It's annoying to drive to my family's house, they have the right plugs, but I still can't charge. It seems that most CCS level 2 chargers don't work, even with the adapter; NACS chargers appear to work. 2. Verizon integration? Why do I want Verizon knowing where I am all the time? I know I have to share data with Hyundai, but why do I have to share data with Verizon? That's such a bummer. 3. Someone else registered my car for bluelink and Hyundai can't clear that registration, so I guess it doesn't matter that Verizon sees where I am, since it's linked to someone else? 4. Android Auto consistently fails. If it's plugged in, it crashes after 15 minutes or so. If it's not plugged in, 50/50 chance things work. I would just use bluetooth, but since I need Google maps (problem 3, anyone?) 5. The proximity warnings are _way_ too aggressive. I can have someone 1.5 carlengths back and it will scream when I change lanes in front of them, despite me accelerating to faster than they are. It complains when people leave the lane in front of me, but not when people cut in front of me. The assistent cruise control will actually _accelerate_ into someone merging into the lane in front of me, which is just weird behavior. Definitely need to keep an eye on it, which is within the expectation of the system, but it would be cool if this behavior were fixed. 6. If I'm in a parking lot and I'm in reverse, the proximity alarm will continue to scream about how close I am to the pillar in front of me. I'm not in drive, and because it's already yelling, I can't rely on the audio signal for someone walking or driving behind me; the car is already crying wolf. 7. One reason I would've gone with the Limited would be built-in dashcams; I'm not looking forward to retrofitting one into the car, but hey, gotta have one nowadays. Honestly, I love everything about the car, except these niggling software issues that really just annoy me. Would I keep it past the lease? Depends on if there are software fixes to these problems.

some hard to overlook quirks

Reverse speed is oddly high, cycling through the drive modes doesn't reset the level of regenerative braking which is wildly bad and dangerous design. The charging started audio is comical and very loud and unusual. Hyundai didn't want to spend money to create a frunk due to US laws around having a latch for children that may be trapped inside.

I wish all charging stations took credit cards as I am technically challenged to do the apps or whatever else is necessary.

Delighted to move into Ioniq5 after 5yrs with a Tesla Model 3

This car has superior ergonomic design and is more intuitive than the Model 3. Even though I haven’t figured everything out, it rides and drives like a dreams

Hyundai builds a great EV and it shows by the way it runs.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 2025 is like no other vehicle on the road today. You can visibly see hope they are built and how they handle. I could not have made a better choice. I would highly recommend this vehicle if you are looking for an EV

Amazing value for money electric car

I was pleasantly surprised by the smooth ride and clean interior design. There were some issues initially setting up the digital key and Blue Link, but after that, everything worked flawlessly. Charging was also smooth, especially the Tesla charging port, which was incredibly convenient. I even tried charging it in the Tesla Diner.

Vehicle is in the shop in just 4500 miles for a faulty battery

In just 4500 miles, the battery on this vehicle has failed. I have had many EVs and this is my first Hyundai. I am very disappointed that the car is now in the shop for a full battery replacement that may take 7-8 months.

Charging is a very big problem. And your dealership misled me.

The charging cord is terrible. It takes more than 72 hours to charge. And the charging inlet is on the wrong side of the car to use most Tesla charging stations. And your dealership lied to me about getting a free charger so now I need to buy one. This is a big consumer protection issue and your corporate folks were unwilling to fix it for me by fulfilling the verbal promise of a free level 2 charger. Also— when I tried to use a Tesla supercharger the car wouldn’t accept it— I felt stranded. You need to fix this charging issue.

Definitely the best EV available

There are a lot of great features. Love the car. There are a few things that dont make sense and would like to see a change. For example auto lock? Doesnt exist. Another much cheaper EV has auto lock on walk away.

Excellent automobile. Missing some critical features / conveniences

I like this car, despite some significant missing features and some irritating flaws. We have the top end model Excellent automobile. Very quiet, smooth ride, powerful acceleration, and it drives very smoothly. The fit and finish are excellent, doors close solidly, center console useful, trunk auto open / close smooth and nice, seats are very easy to get in and out of, most of the controls are intuitive, cooled seats are nice. The 120V outlet is an outstanding feature. Seems to have excellent range per charge. Small trunk, smaller frunk Missing features include #1) NO DASH CAM - yet has the cameras to support it, #2) no set and stay climate control, #3) highest level (iPedal) of regenerative braking does NOT persist from trip to trip, #4) very often the car won't recognize the presence of an electronic phone key, and you have to turn car on and off and on and off, #5) loses the level of regenerative braking just randomly, #6) no walk away locking and locking and unlocking of back doors and trunk are difficult to use, #7) occasionally loses CarPlay connectivity and you have to start all over pairing phone, #8) can only charge to % divisible by 10, #9) quit accepting a Tesla mobile home charger after about 2 months.
