Fun and hassle free commuting...with some quirks!

My Dream Car! Supercar performance, large interior spacing, beautiful inside and out, low maintenance, and affordable! Car does have some quirks...like the rattling trunk that even with a TSB repair has gotten worse not better and where do I put my water bottle?!?!. Could have come with an all season tire instead of the summer tires for us folks who have seasons...but that has its + & -. I am old school and prefer buttons over touch screen menus, and this car has both...but wow....too many menu's to activate all the features in this car!!!

Hot Hatch-Sport Utility Vehicle

They put the sport into sport utility vehicle!!! This is an amazing EV that pushes the envelope on performance and drivability. You can drive it as a crossover SUV or push a button or two and it transforms into a beast with power and handling to spare. The handling is interesting with a comfortable around town mode and a sport mode which stiff. In the sport mode the rear end does not feel quite as firm as you would expect but when you push it suddenly it hunkers down and becomes surprisingly responsive and obedient. Given the weight this car handles in a fun controlled manner. I have not pushed it to the limit yet, but I look forward to seeing just how it manages it weight when I do . So far I am very impressed. Note my other car is a BMW M2 with suspension upgrades.

Great purpose-built car for those who know exactly what they want

Once you learn the all the tricks and dial everything in to your own liking, the Ioniq 5 N is proof positive that EVs can be every bit as engaging and fun to drive as internal combustion engine cars. The more time that you put into learning how everything works, the more that it gives back to you. You just have to understand what it is and who it's for: it's an enthusiast car that can pass as a commuter car when needed, not a commuter car that's pretending to be an enthusiast vehicle.

Vehicle would be perfect, except for the widespread ICCU problem

I absolutely love this car. It is the perfect EV. The handling and performance make this car an absolute joy to daily drive. The build quality is excellent, the material quality is premium. However, after the ICCU went out at only 6,666 miles (yes, that's correct), I cannot recommend anyone to purchase a Hyundai vehicle, until such time that the problem is actually solved. We also have a Kia EV9 that we equally love, but are concerned about the ICCU potentially going out. My vehicle was only out of commission for 1.5 weeks while the dealer was waiting on replacement parts, however I have friends who also have Hyundai/Kia EVs that were struck by defective ICCU, and they have lost several months of use of their vehicles. Everything has been covered under warranty, but the problem is so widespread, and Hyundai/Kia/Genesis's reaction to it has been simply inadequate. Hopefully they fix it for good soon.

So far, one of the best vehicles I've owned.

The car is much roomier than you would expect. Although, WHY!!! Hyundai put a speaker in the "frunk" is beyond reason or logic. The infotainment center is MUCH more intuitive than other EV's I've been in. That being said, Hyundai's choice (or lack thereof) of sound systems is tragic. Lastly, by price point....the I5N....is one of Hyundai's premium vehicles. If I am paying a premium price, I should have WAY more options in interior colors and even exterior color options for almost 75K.

5N is pretty awesome

Overall I have been extremely happy with my Ioniq 5N. How can I complain about a car that is a great commuter, great family car, and a track monster? I can complain, but it takes effort to find the faults. I think the trend for cars being too big and heavy is something, but in the same space the 5N is smaller and lighter (Dodge Charger EV, Porsche Taycan Turismo). The 5N is comfortable to drive at any speed. I mainly commute in this car and it's a pleasure to be in the driver seat, put in it eco mode, leverage HDA + Cruise Control, and just enjoy the entertainment systems listening to podcasts or music from CarPlay or listen to radio when cell signal drops. The climate control not hidden in the system is good, but I will say I wish it were buttons or a dial. Seeing exactly what I'm hitting to adjust the fan speed or vent mode when not using auto would be nice. You do have to take your eyes off the road to see it. The car is super quiet and you can hear when something isn't right like a seat belt in the back rubbing on a door or something; also glad to have the rear hatch rattle fixed as that was quite annoying. The rear space with the reclining seats is great and the hatch area is super spacious. I don't have any issues here. Again, I have to find a fault and this is a big one. Why couldn't you all have just put in intermittent wipers vs "smart" wipers? If I lived in an area that rained more I would complain to you all constantly. I'm not sure what problem you all were solving by putting more tech behind something that has been solved for a few decades. Intermittent wipers at least were consistent. The smart wipers just go into high speed although it's only a sprinkle. It's pretty ridiculous and annoying when I have to use them. I wish you would offer that as a downgrade to reprogram to intermittent from the smart as it's not a great solution. I understand the challenge and likely consumer demand of pricey car expectations, but I could do without. I would just like to have a set speed I could set the wipers and be done. When I use them it's never a good experience and just causes me to put rain x and hope that it will hold up get me to low speed wipers. One last item to highlight is range. I just wish it had more range as I find myself charging every other day or every day. I knew it when I bought it, but feel it's worth mentioning.

GPS doesnt work in rain and US Versions dont have features

Having a lot of GPS issues in the rain. Fremont Hyundai said they would have to potentially hold the car for multiple days without providing a loaner and said Hyundai corporate would need to provide rental reimbursement. Very bad experience with mutiple recalls for the call within the same year of ownership.

This Car is Awesome

I honestly can’t think of anything this car doesn’t do well. If I had to complain, it would be the rear hatch rattling and a few other electronic bugs that, fortunately, I haven’t had issues on like others. Overall though, this car is a rocket ship, handles awesome, is comfortable, practical, efficient, and just does everything well, including being faster than 99.9% of everything else on the road. One other recommendation I’d give is the sounds that came with the car - they sound too cartoony, the choices are minimal, and after owning the vehicle for a year there have been zero over the air updates for it.

Not a sports Car

This is a powerful SUV, not a sports car - despite all the marketing hype. Although it has a ton of HP, handling and the car are both too heavy. I would prefer a smaller, lighter EV, even if it had alot less power.
