Mustang to Elantra N
After nearly 5000 miles in my Elantra N I can say it's a fun car, even if a bit silly.
I have always gone for manual transmission cars, but on this car I went with the 8 speed DCT and have no regrets.
I made this decision for real world performance when you need it, and for the high MPG it was reported to get at speeds of 75 to 80 MPH. I have gotten 38+ MPG on trips of 90 highway miles repeatedly with AC off. This mileage can very with circumstances but is always in 32+ MPG on longer trips, even with some aggressive driving in the mix.
The wheels and tires that come with the car are not good, if you live in a warm dry place with perfect roads they will be ok.
(The summer tire provided is just a slick with a couple grooves around it to make it street legal.)
(The 19 inch wheels provided are way way too heavy, and if you don't have perfect roads to drive on the rubberband profile tire that fits it is not a good option.)
I changed to 18X8.5 O.Z. Red Allegherita HLT 17.4 Lb wheels. The red matches the Elantra red and looks great.
Changed to continental extreme contact DWS 06 Plus tires, wheel hop was reduced by fifty percent or more with this set up.
Over all its a great car for three price, fun efficient and practical practical.
Surprisingly I did not need to move front seats for rear passengers to have leg room, and they had plenty head room.
I would like the doors to be lockable from inside of drivers door after opening it, but as of 2023 you have to touch the outside after closing door to lock it. It's annoying on a dry day and dose not work at all on a wet day, um I live in Seattle so ya that's nice.
Blue Link is a nicer feature with lots of control over what happens when remote starting your car. Of course you can and will use it to lock your car if it's raining and you don't want to dig for three key fob. The find my car feature sort of works, but not as good as dropping a pin on your phones Google map.
Useful car to be enjoyed but not to be stupid, as the pop can has allot in common with this car.
