Dealerships...

My second GV80 since 2021... Biggest complaint is my nearest dealership is still almost an hour away, & that's getting old... Other thing is I think the ability to remotely control the sunroof & windows is way more important than having them go up when you enter a tunnel... On the fence about buying another...

Nearly perfect

What's not to love? It has speed, accelerates faster than the BMW X5! It handles like a dream, especially in sports mode. The view of the next two lines over when I turn on the blinker dispelled any anxiety I had when moving across a five lane highway, no more surprises by someone two lanes over moving in to my staked out lane! I love that the voice recognition actually understands unaccentes English; the BMW and I always argued but not this Genesis! And the seat ventilation actually cools you off! The computer could be a tick or two faster when turning on the car and thinking through verbal instructions, but not a minus.

Issues

Headlights are set too far back in housing for proper lighting, they create a black void area shaped as a V in the middle of one's view of the road (when high beams are not in use). One also cannot see as you drive around a corner at night because the V follows the outside painted line (cannot see mailboxes or people walking on the side of the road at night) if another car is oncoming and you cannot use your high beams. The V is the inside edge side (towards the hood side) of the headlight housing blocking the light. Does not accelerate when needed in passing on highway, huge delay. Huge issue with applying pressure to the accelerator and it does not respond. Have had to hit the brake to insure against an unexpected burst of forward acceleration that would put me into the oncoming traffic I was trying to pull out in front of. I have also had issues in a 2 lane highway exit, not being able to be allowed to move over and exit as I put my blinker on to exit. The emergency brake activated on the highway going 65-70mph when I drove over a line that had not been fully removed that had once been used to redirect traffic. This was terribly frightening and thank God no semi-truck, etc. , was behind me. These issues were reported to dealer and I called Genesis directly. At less than 20k miles on my car, I have had to have my rotor pads sanded, my tires are balding, and I still have transmission issues despite a new transmission at 2k miles. I think some of these parts are just poor quality for this higher end vehicle. The touch screen is also so difficult to active the right settings while driving. I hit the wrong button, then have to try to hit that wrong button again to turn it off , and then still attempt another aim for the right button. The space under the control/arm rest area is useless and wasted space if you are short and have to pull your seat up like I have to. Deeper door wells are needed, I can hardly fit a small umbrella in my door.

Solid

Overall the vehicle is not bad. Gas mileage is good but not great. I'm a bit disappointed in the power I thought it would have a bit more power but it is okay in general. Interior is good no issues there. You can change the lighting and good room for multiple average size passengers. Cargo space is good able to carry by golf bag and still can use the space for other things. Overall good car just did not like the power.

Love, love, love my GV80

I drove Cadillacs for at least 10 years and there is no comparison to my Genesis. Quieter, smoother ride and I love the warranty

Great could be exceptional

The 2014 GV80 excels in many ways compared to its competitors. I see some additional features have been added to newer year models so I can only speak to my experience, soft close, automatic opening and closing doors and air suspension are key differences. That said, I love my car.

GV80

Car has been decent overall but a few things have been bothersome. AC seems to have a mind of its own sometimes and is inconsistent. Drivers side seat has what feels like a rod protruding to make the ride bothersome towards the left side of the seat. Had to buy an extra cushion for the seat to make it drivable. Car inside and out are beautiful. Car has been reliable so far.

Overall my favorite vehicle

Love the lines, look, luxury, handling, and responsiveness. Only complaint for the interior is the driver's seat is not comfortable, especially on long trips. It's hard & bumpy, loke you can feel the massaging mechanisms. Also, had to have bothe taillights replaced due to condensation, but repair was a simple process.

Bad Warranty

Some things should have been covered under warranty that wasn't. We will not be buying another Genesis. Part of the steering wheel started to peel and we were told that would not be covered, that is totally wrong!!!
