2026 Genesis GV70 Review

I purchased my 2026 Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige new, trading in a 2024 Porsche Macan T. I have also owned multiple Audi's previously. I purchased the 4-cyclinder model vs the V6 as I felt the additional horsepower was not needed, the 4-cyclinder was plenty quick enough for me! The SUV is very comfortable, I've taken multiple trips at 6+ hours, one was 10+ hours and no fatigue! The features on the Sport Prestige are great. Not necessarily on mine, but for the V6 Sport Prestige that is $72k, Heated and Ventilated seats in the 2nd row should be available. My Sport Prestige was $60k, and the only differences between mine and the V6 is heated rear seats, HUD, Nappa leather, adaptive suspension and 70 additional horsepower; $12k is a lot for just those few differences in my opinion. For $72k, you should get ventilated rear seats and passenger massage function. My only con on the 2026 GV70 is the hood. The front of the hood does overlap over the front end, though you don't really notice it after a little while. My main con with the hood is that it does shake at highway speeds and you can see it while driving, so it is a little distracting. I have not, nor have I heard of anyone having any issues with the hood popping up or anything; so my complaint is more asthestic. Otherwise, I truly love the SUV and I mean that! The Porsche Macan I had previously was the GV70's main competitor to me, and the GV70 wins in almost every category! The Porsche was a more fun driving experience in Sport+ mode; but honestly for an SUV and having kids how often are you in Sport+? The comfort, features, price, warranty, and the GV70 is still quick; GV70 wins all day to me!

Luxury but with too many bells and whistles

I have the 2026 Genesis GV70, in Ceres Blue, which I ordered in March 2025. It's a beautiful car and drives even better. I like that it is a heavy car. I definitely feel safe in it. There are so many gadgets, most of which I don't know how to use. I try to use the booklets to learn how to use things, but it doesn't have an extensive index, so it's difficult to find directions. Instead I google how to adjust things. I do have a few complaints. I think the 2026 was rushed to market. I already have had 2 issues. One is that the brakes squeaked whenever they were wet or it was very humid outside. It felt like I woke up the entire neighborhood when I left for work in the early morning. I am embarrassed just thinking about it. I'm sure people were wondering what was going on as I had the new fancy car in the neighborhood. I had the brakes looked at in August 2025. I was told by the Genesis dealership in Louisville KY that it was a "known issue" and that they were producing a new part to correct the squeaking. I was told that the part would be ready in 30 days. That was 9 months ago, and no one has ever called me or given me an update on it. During the winter months, the squeaking subsided, but we are moving into a very rainy spring and a humid summer. I also got a recall about an issue with the display that could affect alerting me to any issues with the system. It doesn't matter whether the display is 27" or 2". If it isn't working properly, that's a problem. It's my first luxury car. The seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in and it's a pleasure to drive many hours, with zero back pain. However, along with the luxury, comes the luxury gas. Right now I'm paying about $5.09 for premium gas. I stay home a lot. My display has never shown better than 24 mpg. A lot different than my Honda Civic that got almost 40 mpg. Also initially my car insurance skyrocketed, but my premium just came down by a couple hundred dollars. So I was happy with that. Overall it's a very nice car but it's very expensive to drive.

My Dream Care is the Truth

I absolutely love my GV70. If I could chage anything about it, it would be the auto stop/start when the car is idling. But otherwise, I have no complaints.

Fantastic behicle

I really love my new 2026 GV 70 sport prestige. It’s so easy to drive. The drivers assist is wonderful. It just does everything that it’s supposed to do so much easier than ever before. It’s quiet. It’s smooth everything a luxury car should be.

Wireless charging mediocre

You need to dramatically improve the wireless charging. I know it’s a problem with many vehicles but it really doesn’t charge much. It just prevents you from losing charge

An SUV Sports car. Powerful engine.

An SUV, but more like driving a fastback car. To date, a wonderful driving/riding car, easy to park, and comfortable seats.

Windshield

The windshield cracked for no reason, I walked out to my car which is parked in a garage and there was a 6in crack. I looked it up and some people were complaining that they were on their 4th windshield.

I have a GV70 and I love it!

My Genesis is so smooth and so much fun to drive! My only wish is that it was a hybrid. The gas is so expensive and it only uses premium gas.

Aerodynamic looking

Overall nice car but the dealer network is very sparse and I wouldn’t trust concierge service after reading online comments from people who have used it.

Enjoying my Genesis GV70

So far, it's been a good driving car. I am a senior and I have learned some of the electronic safety features. I am not good with reading the manual, however the dealership is close by so I am able to go there and Eddie, my sales guy is very helpful.

Squeaking brakes and no customer service

My brakes have squeaked from day one and we get no return calls from our local service department. I would not buy another Genesis.

1 year in and loving my GV70!

I just passed my one year anniversary with my GV70 and couldn't be happier with my purchase. I love taking long road trips in it because it's so comfortable and quiet. I went with the 3.5 T Sport Prestige in Savile Silver with Ultramarine Blue interior. It has all of the latest safety tech, plenty of power, and very luxurious interior.

Overall good car

Pro - Nice appearance. Good acceleration. Well put together. nice options. Overall pleased. Con - I have 15,000 miles on the car and about a year of ownership, and I still can't figure out the complicated Nav system or how to work all of the bells and whistles. Service at the dealership where I purchased is 1 star, but switched to another dealership, and on the one time I went there, the service was 5 star. Also, I need to use at ;least 91 octane gas, which in Florida means 93 octane, as 91 octane is rarely available, I'm spending about 70-80 cents a gallon more than regular.
