Santa Fe Sports Engine Failure
My car broke down on I-10 on my way to Jacksonville. I was stranded on side
of the road in the dark with my husband. I had my car towed to this dealer the next day from the hotel. I told the agent my engine light came on and I heard a knocking noise under the hood and the car just stopped and would not restart. This is a 2017 Hyundai I had for only eight years. I explained to him that I had the powertrain warranty on my engine. He said he would have to get a prior approval on my car, but the engine failure was probably not due to that even before he had examined my car he had his mind made up. I was told they did a rod bearing clearance test and my car did not qualify. I asked for the report and was told there is no report they just test it on a machine. When asked what was wrong with my car I was told it had 4 cylinder low compression failure. When asked what caused it I was told maybe poor maintenance or a blown gasket. I kept my car service up and oil changed even though this car would suck up oil frequently. I paid $355 dollars for a guess and not a diagnosis. I have had my car towed from this dealer and waiting to get a real diagnosis.
