Great service, as always.
Service is always great. Whether it’s tires, windshield wipers or him telling me I don’t need a new $400 fob because it just needs a new battery. I appreciate Paul and his friendly, professional staff. Highly recommend.

Technicians, not parts replaced!!
Been a long time customer of Independent Volvo, having started when Paul first opened his shop doing all the work himself. Independent Volvo are mechanics, not parts replacers, who will service your vehicle with fair and honest work.

Just got my Volvo serviced at this independent shop and they did a great job. They’re friendly, fast, and reliable. Since Bakersfield doesn’t have a Volvo dealership, it gives me peace of mind knowing my Volvo is taken care of by professionals who really know these cars. Excellent work fixing someone else’s mistakes
I had taken my Volvo to a local mechanic, who was reluctant to make any kind of diagnosis and recommendation. They hinted about the part that I might need, and require that I go purchase it myself, which I did. It still didn’t fix the problem. Not only that I didn’t get an estimate until it was time to pay the bill. To add insult to injury, the invoice they made me sign mentioned something about the part being put on the car at the customer’s request. (I didn’t realize I knew how to diagnose mechanical issues).

My experience with independent Volvo was the exact opposite. Not only did he tell me what specific issue my car was having, provide detailed estimates beforehand, and got permission to proceed with the work, but he fixed the other mechanic’s mistakes at no extra labor cost to me. All the issues that my car was having were fixed, and it’s much more reasonably priced than taking it to the dealership. Paul was incredibly service oriented and transparent in all his feedback. We will be bringing our Volvo back here every time.

Always courteous. Always answers the phone. A real hometown favorite.
Paul goes above and beyond to make his customers happy if he can do it he does if he can’t he will tell you. I have been driving for over 55 years and have never had service like this.

Knowledgeable and trustworthy
I had an emergency issue with my old Volvo, and Paul diagnosed it from my description and then verified it when I took it in. It was pretty major, but they took care of it in just a few days, even after special ordering the parts. Also did some recommended maintenance, so hopefully this ole car will last another 100, 000 (maybe another 200,000) miles!
