I had to call the police. Two employees blocked my current vehicle from leaving on purpose and would not let me leave.
I showed up with a pre approval loan from the bank and I test drove an 07 Camry. It had a bad clutch (I’ve driven lots of different manual transmission vehicles) and when I checked the oil it was no where on the dip stick. I told them I was not interested in the vehicle because of the clutch and engine oil issue. It’s a very common problem with a 2.4 Toyota Camry. The employees angrily blamed me for the issue. I walked back to my current vehicle to head to another dealership and one of the employees then blocked my vehicle in with the car I just test drove.
He then checked the oil on the Camry, topped it off, purposely smeared oil on my hood while looking at me, and then walked away to go work on a totally different car. I asked him to move it and he said I wasted his time so he can waste mine. I told I would have to call the police if he didn’t move it. He still refused so I waited 30 minutes for police to show up and they made him move it.
Piece of advice for the angry old man:
Trapping people at your dealership will not get them to buy cars, also it’s illegal as you now know. I didn’t have to buy anything here to know it’s a place to stay away from.
