Running great and still reliable in old age

To be fair, my mileage is still low for the older model year (135k) and I bought it from a friend who maintained it impeccably the first 14yrs if its life. However, it’s still performing great after I’ve been slacking quite a bit on regular maintenance. I thought I’d only drive it about 5yrs as a student and get a newer car once I got a career going, but it runs so great and doesn’t require too much money for repairs so it doesn’t even make sense to upgrade yet. I’ll for sure be gifting it to my 14yr old stepdaughter when she turns 16 with total confidence it will get her around reliably.

LOVE My Car

My Mazda has been the best car! I've loved every minute of driving it, and if I could find another just like it (only brand-new), I'd drive that second car for another 21 years. Issues through the years: * Replaced alternator * Replaced battery cables (Repaired by AJ's) * One axle issue (Repaired by AJ's) Other than the "usual" maintenance -- oil changes, tires, two batteries, one set of headlights, etc -- my Mazda's been wonderful.
