A Great Friend indeed.
Back in 07 my 02 Lincoln blew its 3rd SPECIALTY ... motor, each one was less than 12,000 so the factory replaced them at no charge. A bit of a hassle each time it took over a week being without my vehicle. ( check out the 02 Lincoln Motors you’ll be very surprised.... As I was returning to home after a awesome Halibut trip as I approached Soldotna heading up the big hill the motor decided it was done. I managed to crest the hill and coast another 3/4 of a mile. Made the tow truck call, only a short 200 mikes each way and my ruby red Lincoln was at the dealer. In the mean time I had phoned my wife she made the drive to rescue me. She made it about 30 min prior to the tow truck.
When I was informed they were not going to replace the motor at no charge but that would work a deal on a new one if I wanted to I immediately began looking. Nearly 13 years later I’m still driving my 08 MKZ. I am very pleased with its many years of dependable service.
I have spent less than 4,000.00 in total repairs over 13 Years which is more than reasonable. The only real issue I’ve ever had was the Wheels. Although they were very nice looking within the first 3 months the finish started pealing. It took 3 years and several wheel changes to get a set that wouldn’t peal. Eventually I had a reasonably good set. A few years back I started looking for its replacement as my 08 was stolen from my Drive way. I went through all the leg work with insurance and picking out a new vehicle ( which I knew (Lincoln) I would I not be as happy with.still I was picking up my new Vehicle in the morning..... however at 2 am I received THE CALL... HELLO yes it is.... you found my Lincoln ...... 7 hrs later I was at the recover yard picking up my car. As I opened the door ther was a 10 in screwdriver in the ignition, police report was 3 teenager took it for a Joy ride, then later sold it for 100.00. The 75 year old fella drove it 100 miles out of town parked it at his cabin. The car was spotted by its license Plate, very unique the officer followed it to the old fellas house and there made the arrest..... I didn’t press any charges on the old Guy, and the Authorities plea bargained the 3 minors, but I Was reunited with my Old Friend.
Somewhat violated I called my insurance the bank and the dealer unwound everything and with a heart felt sigh of relief dropped it off at the body shop for the repairs needed. A week later things were back to normal. It’s nice to have a great friend return anytime there away.
