A Great 'Old' Car

I've had this car for 14 years, and it is still a pleasure to drive. Only within the last three years have I had any significant repairs done to the car. The first was the fuel tank--it began to leak fuel at one of its fittings, likely due to the rough roads around here (Tucson, AZ). This year it gave me a brake pedal-to-the-floor warning of a failing hydraulic unit in the ABS, likely a latent problem with any vehicle equipped with ABS, and soon after that a failed brake booster that made cold-start braking pretty difficult. These were all rather pricey repairs, $1400 - $1900 each, but with those completed the car still feels new. I can't see trading it off yet, especially at the price of new cars and not while I so enjoy driving it.

Best Car I've Owned, Maybe

My '91 Accord EX coupe was pretty good, too, but I had to get into a larger car. I bought the Lincoln (MKx) new in 2011, and it has been trouble-free and consistent in performance all these (14) years and (82,000) miles. It still has its original brakes (rotors and pads). It drives great and is quite comfortable (rides firmer than a Town Car, but it's an SUV). It's easy to load and unload (saves my back). Everyone I've carried in it comments on how nice it is, and it is nice. I just had an ABS failure that let the brake pedal go down to the floor. In researching this I found it to be a fairly common problem with ABS. I had the hydraulic modulator replaced and hope to get many more enjoyable years out of the car. I don't expect to find another that is as all-around great to drive as this car.

Just because it's a Lincoln don't mean it's quality.

This was a must-have vehicle. Everything was perfect. The color, the amenities, the style. Just want I wanted. Until. Still under warranty, the vehicle starting displaying electrical issues and the Crossroads dealership "claimed" they had no clue how to fix it since issues didn't occur while in their care. So, I shared a video. Nothing. Then took it to them while the vehicle was acting up. The representative said it would cost them too much to "try" things to fix the problem. Long story short. The electrical issue expanded beyond just the AC magically turning on, music automatically turning up LOUD, camera no longer showing an image BUT then the liftgate starting opening and closing on its own. And what did the dealership say, WE HAVE NO CLUE WHATS GOING ON. The dream vehicle turned into a nightmare.

Purchased this MKX off showroom floor at Ted Britt Ford. It’s been the best car I’ve ever owned in style, comfort, size & reliability, & this is the 8th new car I’ve purchased. I’m looking to buy another MKX in next few years.

nice ride

absolutely love this baby. the only 2 complaints i have is the sirius stations dont automatically flip over to the next set of saved stations and the big frikken 20 inch tires and rims are filthy expensive to replace. otherwise this car is a beaut.

Highly recommended!

Smooth, quite, and extremely reliable. Looks great nearly 8 years later-love it! Loaded with extras at a price that leaves you with money to spare compared to others in this class. I looked at them all...I literally latest drove dozens of SUVs and this came out on top for value and comfort for all passengers!

It was a rental return in 2013 with 27,000 miles on it. It was certified by Ford. It was a 2011 year model, listed for almost $50,000. Paid almost half of the full price. Currently have 97,000 miles on it. Has been an excellant vehicle.

I love it......but

Would like better adjustment options in the seats ~ and controlling the passenger seat from the driver's side would be nice. The GPS is not user friendly. Not thrilled that there is no cover on the GPS screen- don't like the fingerprints showing all the time. Lots of cleaning to keep the screen clean.
