Great value and tech, but let down by prep and software bugs

The 2026 Tucson XRT is a robust and stylish vehicle that offers excellent value for the money in its segment. Mechanically, it feels solid, and the sporty-yet-conservative design is exactly what I was looking for. The dealership experience was positive, and the warranty provides great peace of mind. However, the experience has been hampered by two main issues. First, the car was delivered with widespread surface scratches due to improper polishing and prep work—most notably on the front driver-side hood. Second, I’ve encountered frequent phone connectivity drops that required manual protocol adjustments to stabilize. I would love to see more frequent OTA updates to fix these bugs, add more cluster designs, and allow for better ambient light and drive mode customization.

Experienced Issues

The start button is too close to the radio button and I have accidently turned off the vehicle when at a stop light. Need a cover for the start button. Also, one of window wiper dispensers froze completely and did not disperse the fluid.

The car is okay

The car is okay. There is some clear area that could improve, as well as a Major safety concern that needs to be fixed in the pre-collision system.

I don't like the exterior door seals let in so much water.

The car is pretty nice. My only concern is that the exterior door seals let water in so it is between inner-seal and the body panels. I would think the first set of seals would keep out more water. For example, water from the car wash gets between the little seal at the bottom of the door and the seal that is corrected to the inside of the door. I think, long term, this will cause odors and potentially additional rust.

I bought the FWD. It does not feel safe on the highway. It does not feel sturdy. The sound system is not very good.

Great commuter or small family vehicle

Overall happy with the Tuscon. There's a lot of good things to say aboit the vehicle, but people want to know about the not so good things to help narrow down their search. The few, yet minor, complaints I have are the seats in the SEL premium are not comfortable for long distance drives or just sitting in traffic. The seats could use more cushion or a more premium material. The rearview mirror does not adjust high enough for taller people. I have it as high as it will go and I pretty much stare at the back seat when looking in it. I have to tilt my head to see out the back window through the mirror. The blind spot monitoring that comes up in the cluster is blocked by the sensor sitting on top of the steering column. As a taller person, I have a hard time seeing it, so most people will not be able to see the blind spot warning on the dash cluster at all. The mirrors work just fine, but everyone should be doing an over-the-shoulder check anyway. The auto start/stop is sporadic. It cuts on when I don't want it to or it doesn't come on when I do want it to, like at long stop lights. Not as efficient as other vehicles I've driven. The fuel economy is slightly less than advertised, even with the auto start/stop. I know it's dependent on driving habits, but every other vehicle I've have had been spot on with the advertised MPG. These are all minor things and I'm still happy with the vehicle overall. The Tuscon is a nice looking vehicle all around and definitely the best value per dollar in its class. There is plenty of cabin space, front and back. More than other SUV's in its class.

Basic, few frustrations, very good overall.

The vehicle does a lot well, and is more well-founded than many of its competitors. While I have some frustrations and one that I think is actually unacceptable at any price, I’ve pretty happy with the purchase over all, I guess.
