Do not buy this car

I've owned probably about 15 cars in my life so far and this is by far the worst car I have ever bought. So many troubles engine went out having to replace everything all the time. It's just getting ridiculous.

Great car except for the most important part – the engine

This car is one of many with the 2.4 L GDI Hyundai/Kia engine, that has an oil consumption issue that is usually not known by the customer until it is pretty severe. You are not smell or see any smoke, but you will have sit in your tailpipe as well as, rapid consumption of oil. If you own one of these vehicles, start doing all your research and due diligence now, it’s possible you may get a replacement engine, but not until you do everything on your part, including spend a few hundred dollars first.

My husband's favorite car.

This is our third of four Hyundai's purchased in recent years. It's my husband's favorite car of all time. He likes the displays, the performance and the warranty on this vehicle. We will most likely continue to drive Hyundai's as long as the car stays reliable, moderately priced, and easily repaired.

Car repair

My 2015 Sonata has been good to me and I have really enjoyed having it. But I recently had problems with it burning a lot of oil. It was diagnosed with an engine problem. In fact, I was told it the engine needed to be replaced. And I knew of other people who were having the same problem with their Hyundai and some with KIAs. But my Sonata was repaired free of charge because I had an extended warranty. But this was very disheartening to me because that could determine if I’d buy another Sonata again. But I really like that brand. Anyway I hope I don’t have any more problems with it.

Burns oil

The vehicle burns oil and the dealership never informed me of this fact. I took it to my mechanic and even though I brought it in on time there was no oil reading on the dip stick. This occurred on multiple occasions

Very satisfied with my vehicle

I’ve purchased this vehicle back in August of 2020, used. It’s been now almost 3 years and I have no complaints so far. I love the sport model that I have, it has an awesome exterior look to it. I would definitely recommend vehicle.

Sonata still running strong

Very dependable Hyundai Sonata. I love the spacious interior and trunk space to fit all gym gear and all the grocery list. Car runs smooth and plenty of power. Good gas mileage. All passengers are happy with the leg space especially on long road trips.

Love my car. But hate its paint job.

I have had five Sonatas. This one has been mechanically as good as the others. However, its paint job didn't hold up and caused a lot of wasted time getting it solved. At this point, I am thinking of changing to another brand.

I love my car.

I've had my car for 7 months. And for the most part it is lovely. I'm having a problem with the paint from the beginning and it keeps getting worse. I've asked the dealership about it and they told me they will call me once the painter is in. I've yet to hear a word from them. Then I was told state inspections were free and I was charged. The car is great. The service was great in the beginning. But slipping the longer I own the car.

Not for the long haul

Of the five Sonatas I've owned, this has given me the most problems. Worst is it's paint job. It also has a noisy cabin. But, this could be the tires. Hoever, I will still check out other Hyundai models once the market calms down.

I found my vehicle to be very compatible to my needs and dependable in every way mechanically. The amenities as far as electronics, heating and air conditioning, sound system, seating adjusting controls and comfortable ride is second to none. I am extremely pleased with my 2015 Sonata.

Overall very happy with my 2015 Hyundai Sonata, but don't trust the mileage estimates

Overall I have been very happy with my 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited. Only two issues have surfaced. The first is the mileage estimate on New Car Window Sticker. My model stated 28 MPG combined city/highway, with 24 in the city and 35 on the highway. Yeah, right! Better chance of me being elected the next Pope. More like 20-22 miles per gallon combined city/highway. The most I ever got was about 25 MPG. I tried to get 30 MPG on Alligator Alley (I-75) in Florida, a nice level road, using cruising control.I couldn't get anywhere near 30 MPG. And using cruise control, we can't blame it on my driving habits. I even turned off the air conditioner to see if I could boost the mileage. Nope! I actually got better mileage on my 1999 Toyota Camry LE. I could actually get in excess of 30 MPG on the highway. The 2nd issue is the ABS system. I see a lot of complaints online about the rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensors going bad, especially on the Hyundai Sonata and Santa Fe models. Or at least that some part of that system causes the ABS and other warning lights to go on on the dashboard. Hyundai has never owned up to the problem, but I see it gets quite a few mentions on various automobile forums. Overall, however, my Hyundai Sonata was an excellent value for the money spent, and it has been an extremely reliable vehicle.

new engine 2015 have big design flow (burning oil). Hyundai statement that is is ok to add quart of engine oil after only 1000 ml big BS. It is design flow. I have 2008 sonata with 220000 ml on original engine and "0" oil amount need to be added after 5000 ml . Probably will be look for different brand in 3 month.

Very comfortable and trouble free

Enjoy the vehicle. It rides well, requires only average maintenance and is attractive it has everything that I need in a vehicle. It has good mileage the electrical system has all that I require and is easy to operate.

Love it's lines, but the quality is not what I expected.

I have owned or leased many Sonatas. The last two were not up to my expectations. (2013 and 2015). The current one, 2015, has a terrible paint job. I also don't feel as comfortable as I did with the others. However, it is a great design as opposed to the ones currently on the market. I really can't say I don't love it.

A good reliable car.

We have had this vehicle since 2015. We still have it. We will NOT sell it anytime soon!! It works great!! Like any car, it has had battery, oil, tires changed here and there. With regular maintenance services at the Key Hyundai, the car drives like a dream.

My experience with owning a Sonata has been great.

I'm very pleased with my Sonata. In the past I never owned a Hyundai. Looking for a new car, I wasn't sure what I wanted, but as soon as I saw the Sonata, I was sure that was the one for me. It's a great driving vehicle with plenty of leg room which is important for long trips, and the gas mileage is good.

Great car. Concerned about 3G conversation, no input yet from Hyundai. If not addressed would not buy anotherHyundai. .Hope to hear about this issue soon. Exterior plastic components fading badly over time.
