So pleased!!!
The desire to downsize out of a 3 row mid-size SUV (necessary for years of hauling kids & their various equipment) led me to the Kona in 2018 after seeing one on the road shortly after their entrance into the market. I had never considered a Hyundai largely because the styling was *completely* unappealing until I found myself rubbernecking trying to figure out "what is THAT!??!" when I first saw the Kona. I found a used 2018 Kona Limited with 8000 miles on it (purchased in February of 2019) and joyfully (not kidding) drove it until June of 2021 when my college-age daughter bought it from me. I was thrilled for her but sad for me because I "just wasn't done driving that car yet"! So after about a 10 second thought process (also not kidding), I went out and replaced it with a 2021 Kona Limited :-)!! Same exact car, which I think says A LOT. No one in my family has *ever* bought a new car - we've never even considered it, but after our experience with the 2018 Kona, we KNEW it would be a GREAT vehicle and we did it unreservedly! I absolutely love this car!! The gas mileage is probably my favorite thing. After years of filling a gas hog ( not complaining - it was necessary in that phase of life!), this is such a refreshing change! I also really love the pep of the engine and I can say after driving the 2018 for 2 years, the 2021's DCT is definitely a noticeable engine change. The styling is so fun, the front seat provides plenty of room and I can haul people/stuff if I need to. Another benefit for me is the price of this car. Any car is expensive - but the cost of this car was definitely a driver in my decision to purchase. It isn't a luxury car by any stretch of the imagination, but it suits my needs as a downsizing mom who still occasionally hauls a kid to activities.
