Good Vehicle but has its Issues with Hybrid Engine and Terrible Dealership Service

This vehicle looks really good and gives good mpg. However, I am experienced and see online many other owners experiencing a check hybrid engine alert that will prevent the vehicle from accelerating and starting. I tried to get the battery replaced (under the manufacture's warranty) however it has been 5 months and I still have not received a new battery. The Hyundai dealership service can be pretty subpar. They will not complete all the necessary services listed. Make sure you review each listed service. For example, They did not change my windshield wipers despite listing that they did. I took it to a third party to confirm further service discrepancies.

Stylish, performs well and generally solid gas mileage

Love the vehicle, love the look, hate the crappy peeling chrome. Great gas mileage for the mountains here that I live in, interstate is less which is surprising. But, overall - I still have no regrets.

I would not recommend the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid, it loses power while your driving you then have to pull over and reset the battery (reset button) it can be very dangerous if your driving in the freeway because car loses all power and you better hope your not in the fast lane because once the car loses power you have to get the car to the outside lane to pull outside freeway and car starts slowing down while you have a bunch of cars passing you bye lawsuits waiting to happen very dangerous!

Biggest bang for my money

Hyundai elantra delivers on value. The money I save on gas is paying off. The features and gas mileage is what sold me at first but it I really enjoy driving it. I would really hope in future that they address road noise.

The hybrid is worth buying

I have owned 2 Ioniq Hybrid Blues and this Elantra Hybrid Blue. All 3 were excellent for the most part. Hyundai is my first choice go-to vehicle. The warranty, style, quality and features are top notch for the money.

Great gas mileage, but decelerates in a very jerky fashion. It has revved and accelerated without a foot on the accelerator three times and stalled once. It is only 2 years old. I would not buy this car again.

A NICE CAR ...SORTA LIKE A 1973 NOVA ON STEROIDS. I ENJOYED DRIVING IT HOWEVER AS A 6'2" MAN IT WAS REALLY NOT THE KINDA VEHICLE I SHOULD HAVE PURCHASED FROM THE BEGINNING. THE PRICE FOR THE SANTE FE WAS A BIT TOO MUCH AT THE TIME. IT REALLY DOES NOT MATTER MUCH. I WILL NOT PURCHASE FROM COASTAL HYUNDAI AGAIN...CUSTOMER SERVICE NEEDS A GOOD REPRIMAND. IT IS REALLY TRUE THAT ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY AND THE DEAL IS DONE...THEY REALLY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU UNTIL THE NEXT SALE! Fantastic Fuel Efficient Hybrid

If you're looking for a fun car to drive that looks really nice and gets some of the best gas mileage on the market you should certainly consider the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid. Almost everyone that came in contact with the car was impressed.

Overall vehicle is very nice. Wife loves the gas mileage. Wish the dealer could resolve the random lack of acceleration issue that causes us to have to pull off the road on occasion. Has been in multiple times for this issue and still unresolved.

Excellent value and great styling

Cannot beat the amenities and fuel economy of this car. The value of your money goes a long way with this car, especially when compared to the others in its class. The maintenance and warranty coverage is far superior than the rest of the competitors.

Exterior stylish , interior is basic but enough . Hybrid so far is great! The deceleration issue that happens at strange times is a little annoying but can be fixed if the car is put back into park and turned off.

Love my car. I am disjointed at not having my cruise control / collision avoidance not working. The radar module needs to be replaced and the dealer said there is no ETA yet on this part. Other then that I do enjoy it.

car is ok

main reason for purchase was ventilated seats. poor performance. next was fuel economy. actual is far below advertised. pass seat height adjustable. advertised on website, but not there. we first bought a 2020 sonata, and it was excellent, so we mistakenly thought the elantra would be the same, except smaller. WRONG. i think hyundai cheaped out on the elantra

Concerning issues.

Hello, I have elantra hybrid 2021and bought it new. I am facing issues with steering wheel, loudness of the engine and cracking sound in the transmission whenever i stop in traffic. It also jerks a lot when stoping which is concerning. I had mailed to dealership today about these issues. Let see how it goes.

Elantra 2021 Hybrid

Thought this would be a car I would keep and pass down to one of my kids! It is beautiful! And has been really good on gas!! But it had to be serviced at over 20,000km because the car started to predict how I drive (as the mechanic described) and needed to be rebooted and refreshed because this was the answer to the jerking of the car! Now the car is at 40,000km and gave me a horrific ride home!! (40min)! It again started jerking forward when I was gentle braking coming towards traffic or a red light! And when going forward excellerating it pumped the brakes!! There is no engine light on! And when others took it for a test run nothing happened! I feel like the car is possessed lol!! I honestly don’t feel like it is a car that is meant to be in a cold atmosphere! That being said though temperature hasn’t been that cold!? Can’t wait to get rid of the car!!
