Sleek design, great features, just lacking space
We have had our GMC Acadia for a few years now, so I figured it was time to give it a final review. First off its been a great SUV, and the design of the vehicle itself is nice. I love the features of the vehicle, the tire pressure sensors, the amount of fuel used, the XM radio, the tow package, the fact I can seat 8 people in it. And the overall package is great on this vehicle. My only complaints are, to change the headlights, I literally have to take it to a mechanic because we can not get to the bulbs easily to change them. The tires or bumper have to be taken off to change them, that is a huge design flaw. But apparently is being seen more and more on newer cars. Which in my opinion as a consumer is not right at all. But I guess the car companies have to make their money somewhere. Another downside to the vehicle is storage space. Now this is only when you have the third row up, when it's down it's perfect. But with a family of 6, Majority of the time we need the 3rd row seat up. It's insanely frustrating especially when we want to go to the store as family, we need to take two cars to make sure we have enough space for the items or groceries we need to bring home. There have also been issues with our air conditioning system, and apparently that is fairly common among these vehicles. It's not considered a defect or having recalls on the system, because it doesn't affect the overall operation of the vehicle. Which to me is just a cop out for GM not wanting to take responsibility for their crappy part and assembly of the air condition system. Now would I purchase this vehicle again, no, I would definitely get a full size instead, like the Yukon or Suburban. That is only because of the size, nothing to do with any of the other smaller issues. For a family of 4 or 5, this vehicle is great! We have taken it on several long road trips, with us being a family of 4, and both kids had plenty of space. We used a trailer for our stuff so we have full range of inside the vehicle without any restrictions on space. Overall the GMC Acadia is a great car, but like I stated for a family of 4 or maybe 5. Bigger families definitely recommend something bigger. Hope this helps!
