Nice but Has a Big Learning Curve

Nice vehicle overall. The buttons and lights on the steering wheel stopped working for almost a week and magically started working again. There are so many features and settings on this vehicle that it takes too much time and energy to learn and leverage them. It concerns me that this vehicle is so heavily reliant on computer software that it may continue to prove problematic/unreliable. Why doesn't the vehicle have wireless Apple CarPlay yet??? Wasn't happy to learn the Matte green paint requires handwashing and special care that is not practical for me to perform. If I knew these special requirements for the paint beforehand I would have picked a different gloss paint color.

GV80 Second Time Around

In my second go with Genesis and the GV80, I am again pleased with quality, styling and power. Drawbacks are fuel mileage, premium fuel recommended, and no spare tire. In certain areas, getting service when you want it could also be of issue.

My Genesis GV 80 is Mostly Great

I love my new Genesis but there are a few things that I wish they would improve: 1) I wish that the garage door remote feature would stay on for a minute or two after turning the car off, as I always have to get out and hit the button at my door rather than in my car. I understand it’s a safety feature, but it’d be great if it would stay on for a short time after the ignition is turned odd; 2) I don’t understand why pictures come on the dash when I turn on my turn signals - they seem silly.

Loved it until the lift gate malfunction

I compared the 2025 GV80 to the equivalent from BMW, Lexus, Mercedes and Audi. After investigating each of them I came back to GV80. I love the look, the drive and all the great features and at a slightly lower price overall. I've been very excited about my purchase and have even started to sell my friends on the vehicle. I had one friend buy one already. Then, this past weekend the lift gate would not respond to any of the buttons to open it. The key fob, the interior release and the back wiper button would not respond. I took it in and after waiting 4 hours was told that there is a problem with the "module" and that they were on backorder for 2 to 4 weeks before they could fix it. Now I have a vehicle with no usable lift gate. This is extremely disappointing and inconvenient. I would have hoped that the dealer could have sourced a replacement "module" in better time but that doesn't seem to be the case. I have to say that my enthusiasm is waning greatly. If they could fix it promptly it would just be a minor inconvenience but now I have to wait no telling how long to get it fixed. There is not even a "failsafe" manual mechanism for me to open the lift gate so it is unusable. I want to be a "believer" that this vehicle and Genesis were the best choice I could have made but I'm starting to have my doubts. I love the vehicle and just want to enjoy it with my family but this is a big disappointment. If someone with authority at Genesis could help by stepping in to get this resolved, I would sincerely appreciate it and it would renew my enthusiasm for your product.

2025 Genesis GV80 - Impressive

I bought the 2025 Genesis GV80 Advanced 2.5. The exterior and interior design distinguishes this vehicle from its competitors. Smooth ride and the transmission is flawless. The turbo charged four cylinder has plenty of get up and go. With that being said, I am getting around 24 mpg city and 28+ mph hwy. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

The GV80 is best vehicle I have ever owned!

I have owned several luxury vehicles (most recently a German made SUV) and the Genesis GV80 ranks as the best, by far! Everything about the vehicle is first class, from the simple yet elegant interior, to the great looking and well designed exterior! High tech connectivity is easy to use and very intuitive. Best vehicle I have owned.

Smooth and quiet ride

Love the exterior and interior design. The ride is smooth and comfortable. I would like to see an option with all the safety features of the advanced models without having a moon roof. We own a GV80 base model and GV70 Sport Prestige. I am not a fan of moon roofs, so my only option was the base model. That left me without the side and front cameras. For $60k all of the cameras should be included.

Great car

The ride, cabin layout, and performance, make the GV80 a drive to look forward to with each trip. The dash and steering controls are very easy to use, and don’t require taking attention off the road, the way a lot of new cats do these days. The one and only complaint I have at this point (5+ months in), is the still absent update for wireless Apple CarPlay feature.

A vehicle that compares favorably with other luxury brands.

Our Genesis GV80 is a well-made luxury SUV. It is an expensive vehicle, but we found it was less expensive than most luxury vehicles that it compares to in the market. The exterior design is unique but attractive. The interior is beautiful. It is as nice or nicer than the other vehicles we considered. Our 2025 GV80 2.5T Advanced AWD is well appointed and the driver assist technology and safety features are great. .

Love it!

I am totally satisfied with this beautiful car! It has many wonderful features. It has a super smooth ride and I feel extremely safe while driving it. This SUV was available with a 3rd row of seats which was important to me. Comfortable and sporty combination.

Rattle is killing me!

This is my second GV80. First one totaled by daughter. Air bags deployed and she was unharmed. Both vehicles developed the same exact rattle inside lower back door, both times within 300 miles of ownership. The rest of the car is superb, but I expect better in this price point.

Love this car!

I love this car with one exception. I have been unable to update the software in the car and have had to take the car into the dealership to have this done. And sometimes the app doesnt work properly. Other than that, I love this car. Very quiet and a smooth ride. Super comfortable and good looking.

Smooth and sophisticated

The car is beautiful and a smooth ride. There are so many features that it takes a bit to figure everything out but once you do, it is amazing. It is missing wireless Apple CarPlay, which is a big miss. Supposedly, it is coming through a software update. Hopefully, that is a priority as wireless CarPlay is somewhat standard on 2025 vehicles.

Very Good

Vehicle is nice to drive, comfortable, and spacious. Technology is mostly excellent. Some changes between the last model year do not really make much sense, and removed customization options. Should not ever have haptic controls on a steering wheel.

Poor customer service

If you call Genesy.com for help they can do nothing. I’ve made 8 calls to try to correct my phone number in their system to no avail. I’ve now waited 4 days for the engineering department to call me back to see if they can figure out how to change a phone number. Meanwhile I can’t get online with them to solve other problems because they have to text me a code to get online,but they have the wrong number! I should have purchased a Lexus.

Poor customer follow up. Your call center can’t fix my simple problem

If you can’t say something nice. Don’t say anything. Your call in customer service sucks, I I have made eight calls to try and get my correct phone number placed in your system and it still hasn’t happened. It has now been 4 days I have been waiting for engineers to call me back and tell me how they can change my phone number in you system. Can you imagine what is going to happen to me if I have a serious problem? I should have purchased a Lexus they know what quality and customer service is. You guys have failed me eight times so far. I’m not asking for the moon, but without the correct phone number in you system you can’t send me a text with the sign in code so I can’t enter Genesis. Com. How could you ever fix my car when you can’t make a simple phone number change in your system?

Nice but noisy - wireless car play DOES NOT WORK

Wind coming through passenger side ever since taking delivery. Noisy. Everyone in the cabin notices. I took it to dealership to get looked at. They kept it for 2 weeks, didn't fix anything. Poor car, poor dealership. Nobody contacted me to schedule regular service...I thought they would as this is advertised as a "premium" vehicle and white glove service - that is a joke of a statement. You are not even close to a luxury vehicle. I have owned 3 Mercedes Benz in the past so I can give a fair comparison.

Well constructed and beautiful vehicle

I’m happy that we purchased the Genesis GV80 as this is a quality vehicle. Its interior is beautiful and comfortable as the exterior design looks pretty slick. We have had this GV80 for several months now and so far I haven’t encountered any issues whatsoever as it shouldn’t since it’s a brand new. We were delighted when we realized we can actually drive GV80 without the fob key as long as your cell phone is connected to this vehicle. We found this benefit by accident because I left the key at home. After I started the engine with the key in my pocket. I went back inside of my house to change the jacket and forgot about the key. I drove my GV80 to my destination and realized what I have done! I had to google on my phone what to do under this situation. I saw someone mentioned on YouTube about driving the GV80 only with cell phone. Since my phone was already paired with my SUV, with hope, I started the engine and viola, it worked. Thanks Genesis for this brilliant technology! I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who is in the market for a new SUV. I’m also a owner of Audi A4 which I drove almost 2 decades without any problems. I hope this GV80 would last just as long as my Audi is.
