Review
Car is pretty good, but the transmission shifting is not good. When slowing down at a yield intersection, but not coming to a complete stop, when I step on the accelerator pedal nothing happens initially. I have almost be hit because of this a couple time. I was told this is "normal." Apparently it is due to the electronic shifting having to go through each gear on the way down, unlike a car with a clutch. It may be normal for the car, as it was for my prior car, but it is dangerously normal. You have to fix this.
The infotainment system and the multitude of electronic controls are hard to use. I don't know what most of the things are and there is no rhyme or reason to how the onscreen options are used. Sometimes turn the knob, other time push the knob to one side or the other. Cannot access contacts without touching the screen, which I won't do while driving. The manual is incredibly long and hard to use. It takes minutes to find the most basic things, like setting the clock. Most of the manual(s) text is devoted to features we don't have and pages of disclaimers about don't use the feature in various situations--like driving on the road.
The acceleration in the car (AWD with small turbocharger) is fine from a stop, but inadequate when trying to pass vehicles on 2-lane roads. This is especially noticeable when driving uphill or when trying to pass multiple cars and trucks. I guess this may be due to the transmission design as well. Sixth doesn't cut it for passing and the car is slow downshifting. Very disappointing because one reason I bought the car was it had better acceleration than the car it replaced. But, my road test was not on a 2-lane winding country road which we frequently have to drive on.
