Overall - great car and great design that could use a few tweaks...

I love my 2023 Genesis G80 Prestige. Receive compliments regularly from strangers on the sporty site wheel rims and the style of the car. Most see Genesis GV70 and 80's but not sedans. The car drives smoothly, is quiet, interior luxurious for passengers, and the car handles well. The car has power and handles great in the mountains and on highways. The Italian Pirelli tires did not last many miles on Denver metro roads but found Continental tires with the dealership that will have better wear without loss of performance, comfort, or increased noise. Some frustrating things in the design that could be easily fixed... sunglasses holder is awkward for standard lenses, the headset display is useless with sunglasses and could be a eyebrow mount on the dash instead for "heads" placement, the speedometer on the dash should be in the middle of the steering wheel and the RPMs too...can't see without moving the head around the wheel, the sunroof should be tinted to block hear and sun or a hard interior fabric should be used... gets excessively hot because it is thing fabric, the sunroof makes rattle sounds when going over large bumps or curbs, the radio controls don't allow for old push button selection to target a radio station... have to scroll to change channels, the car phone features to answer, hangup, and perform commands is awkward... can automatically dial the last phone number when clicking the off button again and it leaves the user on the call screen without going o the home screen, the app drains phone battery life when signed in, and the key fobs stink as designed with battery life only lasting months before setting off the car alarm. This all sound picky but would take the car to elite status. Sadly when driving a loaner 2025 G80, the full length screen experience looks cheap and generic like electric vehicles... not the luxury and sportiness expected for a sporty high-end sedan and I was informed the sporty waffle rims are going away in the 2026, which is the main compliment I receive in the car. Sometimes, less is more with design changes year-to-year.

Very good with a couple of exceptions

The sunroof clanks very loudly and way too much and I found on the Internet that many others experience the same. Some have said they have own several G80s since 2015 and all had the same problem. Some said they have to get it "fixed" every six months. It looks like mine is going to be like that as well. I use the USB port to play music. The music cuts out for several seconds many times when I first start playing the music, but if I keep playing the music, it eventually stops. Of course, the dealer said they could not duplicate the problem. The key fob does not link to the memory position. Big miss. Also, my suggestion would be, in the future, offer the electric supercharger. Seems weird that it is offered in the GV80 (an SUV) but not the G80, a sedan. Other than that, I like everything else about the car. The seats are the most comfortable I have ever experienced, the 21 speaker Lexicon sound system is really great, the car is VERY attractive, and it handles well. It is overall fun to drive.

European Staples Beware: Genesis is Here!

It is exquisitely quiet, powerful, comfortable, attractive, with all of extra features that you wish had been on other brands’ models. Very enjoyable driving experience. Safety features were actually the drawing card for this model. Incredible value for the cost compared to comparables. Minor annoyances (some listed below) insignificantly detract from the experience. Looking forward to/hoping for a plug-in hybrid model in the near future. 1. Automatic windshield wipers: Delay in operation when first encountering rain 2. ApplePlay/SiriusXM interface: In ApplePlay mode, turning on SXM Radio pushes you out of ApplePlay, requiring you to push 3-5 buttons to play SXM simultaneously with ApplePlay. Would love to figure out how to enable a split screen of the ApplePlay function eg Waze and SXM song and artist info. 3. Lock/unlock Function on Door Handle: Sometimes, multiple touches are necessary to lock the car; sometimes, multiple hand-grabs necessary to unlock the car. 4. Sport Mode: Appreciate the responsiveness and faster up- and downshifting as well as the more-snug lateral seat cushions in Sport Mode. I wish that the exhaust sound could sound more “growl-y”, reminiscent of a sports sedan. 5. Gas mileage: Around-town (mixed in-town and highway driving) mileage in Comfort and Sport Modes are both around 20 mpg. On longer highway drives, up to 31-33 mpg. Not as economical as my previous Audi A6 3.0L.

Great car with just a few disappointments

Love the car, and has been a great experience except a few item, such as the sunroof popping I swear sometimes I feel it will shatter and the chrome around windows look discolored and ugly even after cleaning them

Have been taken to dealer multiple times because Keep having problem with the aligment ( if sterling wheel straight the car drive to the left. Don’t know if sterling wheel crooked or whatever reason). Bought brand new car but the car keep making a noise like something cracking Everytime reverse or slowly drive on and off to garage side walk. After complained so many times to Dealer but no one would know what happen until the recent visit (8th time) finally a mechanic at least stated that the noise it came from the roof of the car since the car is missing some type of nail and they need to open the whole thing to screw that missing nail in. AC design pretty annoying as it can only point or move at few direction and AC are weak.
