A little partial for 4.6L blocks..
First off, like the title, I’m a huge believer in the 4.6L block and had a 1999 F-150, which I ended up giving it to my Grandson..
2010 was the last year of the 4.6L block due to they didn’t want to do more to increase the efficiency of it…
But, I will drive this for a few more years before going electric.
Reason why I haven’t gone electric yet is I know engineers who work at Ford suggested that I wait until they get it fine tuned and get the bugs out before getting one..
My 2010 is an XLT super cab 2x4, but loaded with the trailer package, so it’ll last me longer than I will, probably.
Have 285K on it now and haven’t too much trouble except for some issues that are on YouTube.
My Grandson has driven the new electric F-150 and he was very impressed by it and he’s tested at least three different models from every manufacturer, so he has knowledge on electric vehicles.
As for these 2010 models, especially the 4.6L are out there but they’re not easy to find with low mileage due to their durability..
Now I will say for myself and my family, on long trips, the seats are a little hard or get comfy in compared to the 1999 F-150, but those late 90’s seats were awfully comfortable for long trips…
I’m not a heavy weight nor are any of my friends or family so I’m not complaining because I’m too big for a vehicle, just an average 210# person.
It’s too bad the 4.6L is gone, but they have the newer blocks that are even better than the 4.6L.
So it’s not really a question of what block to choose, it’s more about what’ll fit your needs..
