2007 PT Cruiser
I love my PT cruiser despite the fact that I had major transmission problems. I am mad at Chrysler and would not buy another Chrysler vehicle. My research on the internet shows that Chrysler knew about the transmission problems and never did a recall on this car, but what do you expect these days, it's hard to find a company that stands behind it's products . That being said it's an economical four banger and it is surprising roomy for grocery shopping with the back seats folded down or taken out. I live 1.5 hours from Kingman AZ or Henderson NV, where I go to Costco to stock up. I can get 3 coolers in the back of my PT, plus stuff groceries around them. I initially bought the car because it was low to the ground for my 91 year Mother to get into, we did two long car trips before I lost her. One to Florida and one to Kansas, and it carried all our luggage in the back with no problem, even with the turbo charged engine this car is no speed demon, particularly when climbing hills, but put it on a straight road and it trucks along easily. It's a pleasure and easy to drive, the low ground access is great for older people to get into, but it requires a lift to work on anything underneath. The finish is not great on this vehicle and it chips easily so it needs to be kept garaged, keep up on the maintenance and as long as you don't get one that has the transmission problems this small car should be around for years to come. Mine is a second vehicle and I only use it on paved roads in my rural area because it is so low to the ground, I have a full sized pick-up that I drive on a daily basis, but I use the PT as my go to town vehicle because it is far more economical.
As I said I love my PT Cruiser and will hang on to it despite it's issues.
