Mom’s hand me down
My mom bought the car new from Weatherford BMW in Berkeley, California. She never misses a service and is an excellent driver no accidents and is not hard on the car. I was 20 years old when she got it no accidents but I used the gas pedal and learned that BMW 4wheel disc ABS breaks are pretty darn impressive. My mom drove our girl 17 years and 180 thousand miles till she got a 2017 BMW 528 and our old girl is mine. She gave me a two inch thick brown legal envelope full of all the service and factory service receipts . The car was towed one time due to a fuel pump failure she wasn’t driving the car at the time you can take a good guess who was. Now I didn’t run the tank dry but when I told her the the fuel light just came on and the computer range counter said I had 47 miles left to witch she replied to me “it has a low fuel light? I did not know that” I wasn’t allowed to use the car for a long while. The first year I had the car with no problems than she started to get the high mileage problems oil filter housing gasket started leaking got a bank two misfire code code started happening. I live in Sacramento California and the second summer the radiator and filler tank went bad. So I thought about getting something else but I was looking at spending 4-5 grand on something decent but nothing compares. The car looks great cosmetically the body style is timeless and desirable and I knew the car inside and out so I got on line found fcpeuro and ecstuning. It had been some years since I had the hot rod itch and had my 86 z28 that I put a small block 400 6 speed and bear racing 4 Wheel disc break set up from the ZR1 corvette. I spent 2 grand on that break system. I must of driven something with a top notch break system to get that idea. 🤭. So I was itching so I got to scratching. Coolant system over haul, water pump thermostat assembly, under drive metal pulleys new belts and tensioners , clutch fan, delete cold, air intake aftermarket ignition coil packs two cam position sensor’s crank position sensor. Intake oil filter, housing valve cover gaskets. Coil over shocks all four corners, remanufactured brake calipers, steel braided brake lines all four corners. A shark ECU map program. 1200watt amp pushing 2 twelves to give the factory DSP some low end bump. Worth every penny and I’ve had no problems.
