What the body shop missed!
After a front end collision with my vehicle, the subsequent repairs included a new radiator/cooling system in my car. Within 3 days of getting my vehicle back, the check engine light came on and I noticed the vehicle was not throwing much heat. A return to the body shop (since repairs carry a lifetime warranty) resulted in being told the engine coolant bypass valve was creating a computer fault and needed to be checked and possibly replaced, but that I would have to take it to a dealership or engine repair shop as it wasn’t part of the damage. Skeptical that I wasn’t having any issue like this prior to the accident or the cooling system being replaced, I took the vehicle to Wells. I can’t say enough kind words about Frank and the staff. They had to remove a manifold and other parts including the front bumper to access this part (which was diagnosed not faulty) and insure there were no crimped or broken wires. Ultimately it was an air pocket in the cooling system tripping the computer because the body shop hadn’t properly bled the system when refilling it with antifreeze. After all this, Frank charged me ZERO for their time and efforts, and said he would work it out through the body shop. An actual honest repair shop that could have easily charged hundreds of dollars for unnecessary parts and repairs, but didn’t! They have a customer for life now!!
