All my car people, don’t bring your car here. Anyone who needs an oil change, feel free, clearly they do a great job. Here’s my experience: we brought our 2015 Ford Focus ST in because we thought the master and/or slave cylinder needed to be replaced. After stopping by the shop on my way home 2 days after dropping off the car, they tell me I need a new clutch. I do not. We just had it replaced. They charged me the $150 for what? Pushing it 20ft? Pushing a button to lift it? They didn’t give us a proper diagnosis and wanted to charge $4k (woah) for a new clutch? After telling them I knew it wasn’t the clutch, me telling them I thought it was the master and/or slave, they tried to charge minimum $1,500 for having to drop the transmission (that’s just the labor without properly even diagnosing it). So I have to pay $1,500 before even knowing what’s wrong with it. They couldn’t even take the time to see that the brake fluid was low. If you aren’t sure about things, ask questions. Reach out. Communicate. I would steer very clear from this “mechanic” shop. Yes we agreed to $150 inspection fee but what was inspected? We tried to be civil and go in and ask what we could do about the fee because we knew nothing was looked at. $150 could’ve gone to my children. I would have had no problem going with this shop had they properly looked at the car or communicated with us & not try to make us out for fools. I walked out still not knowing what is wrong with my car & $150 less. I would bring it to Meineke across the street. After speaking to them, they seem noble & honest.

No longer a "fan!"
I have been bringing my Ford Mustang into Top Notch Auto for 9 years, recommending this business to all my family, friends, and co-workers because of their great service and honesty. Over the past year, things have changed drastically. Last March, I brought my car in for an oil change and to have them check my heater and AC which was not blowing hot or cold air. After having my car for 8 hours, I was given around 14 pages of things “wrong” with my car, but they never looked into my heating/AC issues. When I reminded them, they said that they forgot and I would need to bring it back next week. Bringing my car in weekly is definitely not convenient. Two weeks ago, I brought it in again for an oil change and to have them diagnose my heater/AC issues. Again they said they completed the oil change, but needed more time to fix the heater/ac and would need to order parts. Again I was told to bring it in next week. They verbally quoted me around $100-$300 depending on how long the labor took. They said the oil was changed, but again I had no windshield wiper fluid which I had asked them to be sure and fill. When I brought it back the 3rd time, they kept my car ALL day, but now quoted me $2,651.45, but would need to order parts and complete the repair another day. I could not afford the repair and told them I would pick my car up. Again I asked them please fill the windshield wiper solution that they failed to do last time. When I picked up my car, they told me it had been refilled which it was not. The man working in the office came out and we lifted the hood. He pointed to the empty chamber saying that it had some fluid in there which it clearly did not. As he removed leaves from under the hood, he somehow pulled out the tube leading to the wipers so any remaining fluid dripped on the ground. Then he claimed it was a leak and pulled it back into the garage. If there were leaves under the hood which he had to clean out, it makes me wonder if they ever even lifted the hood. The man did fix the wiper and finally filled it with wiper fluid. Today, I went to another service station where they diagnosed the issue in less than half an hour and fixed my heating/AC for $161. This is a HUGE discrepancy from Top Notch’s almost $2,700 quote for the exact same repair. I am really shocked by the way I was treated as well as their apparent dishonesty.

Peace of mind knowing Top Notch Auto is always here to help
For a 20+ year old Jeep I feel so much better knowing that if something breaks on it they will have my jeep up and running usually within just 1 day. I never feel like I'm getting ripped off either like most places do and their prices are always fair.

An old-fashion great auto-repair shop
The Boomers our there will remember that local repair shop that you always took your car to get fixed rather than a dealership. Why? Because you trusted them. Because you knew the owner, who was the mechanic, or was always one of the mechanics, because they were on-your-side, never gouged you, never padded the bill and stood behind their work. They told you not to repair minor issues that were not yet worth the money to bother with, and warned you about repairs that were likely down the road. T h i s i s t h a t k i n d o f s h o p . Rare, these days.

Great service.
Top Notch replaces some fuel injectors at a price much cheaper than the local dealership and also had some reconnections for maintenance.

Simply the Best!
Top Notch is always the best! Very detailed with inspections and provide great information about my car. I really like how they explain what needs to be fixed and let you know about things that can wait. Very honest and great business, would highly recommend!

Cares bout customers.
I had an issue with the price I was charged and Owen the owner took prompt attention to my response and refunded me the price in issue. I highly recommend this place. The manager Steve is very courteous to his customers also. The response to my problem was taken care of immediately by Owen and I will be a repeat customer.

Very friendly staff.
The staff is courteous and nice. I just think the prices are pricey. I understand everyone has to make money but seeing my part was under warranty I honestly believe the price I was charged for labor was too much.

We appreciate your response, however, there may be a few things that are being overlooked. One, we did not provide the original part or installation of the failed componant, the vendor could not find any history of the parts purchase via your name or phone number, but we were able to get them to warranty the part for you. Two, the amount charged also included the diagnostic fee, to determine exactly what was needed to repair your vehicle. Three, upon replaceing the failed componant, it was then discovered that the key fob was also needed, as the door lock was malfunctioning, this was noit known until the door locks functioned properly. You then provided us a new key fob, which was programmed for you at no additional fee or charge. Please feel free to call us at 815-526-3626 to discuss the situation further if needed.
