Owner says airbags aren’t really needed
My windshield wipers randomly stopped working I was told it was a motor that would cost about 2000.00 to replace. Upon receiving a call that my Jeep was ready for pick I was told the airbag light was on. I told them it wasn’t when I dropped it, I was at first called a liar and told it was and then the owner agreed it wasn’t but he didn’t have time to fix it. So my airbags were disabled he then tells me airbags are needed they are a redundant safety feature and I can drive without them. Well sir as a 15 year medical provider I can assure you airbags save lives. He disagreed. He then told me he’s had the worst week in business and there’s so many things he’s like to call me. I told him I wouldn’t be paying for the job until her fixed what he clearly damaged. He proceeded to be incredibly rude and told me that wouldn’t work for him and he’d just hold my car. I said no that doesn’t work for me. Well the story ends with him telling me it was a bad week for him to quit drinking and that I would need to take my car to his Elkhart job bc the better mechanic works there. Keep in mind the owner is the one that worked on my car. The Elkhart shop fixed my car within 15 min saying he knocked a wire loose. I then paid my bill as I said I would once he fixed the error he caused. Has the owner bothered to reach out with any form of apology for his terrible behavior, telling me I dan drive without my air bags or the inconvenience it caused me to have to take my car to another shop. No! Please be ware of this shop, he made a mistake and failed to acknowledge it and once again to him it’s fine to drive without airbags, airbags in which he disabled while we was supposed to be fixing my Jeep
