I had planned to replace my spark plugs and my shocks absorbers as a weekend project, but decided to have this shop do the job because I wanted to support my local business.
Boy was that a mistake! I will keep this short.
I drove into their shop with a perfectly running car, a 2012 Prius C 130K miles.
All they had to do was to replace 4 spark plugs and shocks absorbers.
During shock absorber installation, Ahmet the owner cross threads BOTH of the upper mounting nuts damaging both brand new shock absorbers, while his brother broke 2 of the 4 spark plugs while removing them from the engine.
I asked Ahmet the owner to put old shocks absorbers back because new ones were now useless.
His brother had finished replacing spark plugs, and when he started the engine, the engine began shaking, knocking, and vibrating violently.
A few hours later, a specialist that works in the same shop inspected the engine and was convinced that some of the broken spark plug ceramic pieces dropped into the cylinder/piston shaft damaging the engine.
Ahmet, the owner assured me knocking and vibration will go away in a day or two, but after taking my car to the dealer a few days later, I was informed by the dealer that I need a new engine.
I had the dealer replace my engine and when I presented Ahmet with replacement costs he totally denied that he damaged my engine and refused to pay for the replacement of my engine.
The poor workmanship ethics and dishonesty of Ahmet THE OWNER! Is truly a danger to the public. He tried to HIDE the fact that he cross threaded and damaged shock absorber mounting threads placing my family and I in danger is seriously disturbing, disappointing and DANGEROUS.
We are all human and make mistakes, but to make a mistake and try to hide it, placing other people’s lives in danger,and not taking financial responsibility for the mistakes that they made is totally irresponsible, unacceptable and unethical.
I will be taking them to court soon enough but I felt that I should warn people what they can expect from Lockwood Auto Repair. These men should have their licenses taken away from them and close down their establishment. They are a public threat.
