I initially had a positive experience with Edge when I took both of my cars in for oil changes and state inspections. During the visit, I was told that the rear brake pads on one vehicle were worn down to 3mm and the other to 4mm. Based on that, I agreed to have the 3mm brakes replaced and paid over $500 for the service.
Two weeks later, I planned to return to Edge to have the brakes replaced on the second car. However, I found a better price at another shop and decided to go there instead. To my surprise, the second mechanic told me the brake pads were still in good shape—measuring around 10-11mm—(new pads are around 15mm in Nissan L models) and didn’t need to be replaced at all.
While a small discrepancy in measurements can happen, a 6-7mm difference is far beyond acceptable and raises serious concerns. I returned to Edge to question whether I had been sold an unnecessary brake job on the first car, but unfortunately, I was met with only excuses.
I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any repair services at this shop. Based on my experience, it appears they may push for work that isn't truly needed.
