When my battery died KIA made sure I got in as soon as possible. I received excellent customer service from Rick Villa, the service advisor/assistant manager.

Todd in service mansplained to me till I was numb about what a pain in the ass it was to work on my car, and how my mechanic of 20 years did crappy work on my car. Todd Charged me 2000$ to replace parts my mechanic just put in and said the parts were crappy. I drove off the lot and the engine light came back on almost immediately. (Backstory is a persistent computer code generating too much particulate matter in exhaust system. despite replacing parts and about 13000$ in the hole. My mechanic suggested I go to the dealer to troubleshoot, making sure I told them the parts are all new. They did not even listen or care what I said -preferring to go off the code generated.
Well- parts came from Chuck Olson… and Todd got mad when this was pointed out. He demanded receipts from my prior mechanic, though they can just look in their system.
They told me I should go back to my mechanic so I did and I asked Todd for those bad parts. He sent me away when I went to pick them up-the guy is on lunch. Later a phone call that They ‘couldn’t find them’ and as a result they reimbursed me 800 and change for the parts that somehow disappeared.
The whole time I was spoken at like a used car salesman and I just had this bad feeling with every interaction. I regret going there.

Spend your money elsewhere
I attempted to contact Chuck Olson several times before posting with no response.
I decided to purchase a new Kia Sportage Hybrid in the top tier trim.

Went to Chuck Olson to purchase it. It’s the very first new car I ever bought and it will likely be the last car I own. I was super excited and got every bell and whistle I could think of.

I knew it would be a long time for delivery and they had zero control over it.

Finally got the call that it was available 9/22 and I was told they needed a few days to make it perfect and available. I told them to schedule an appointment that’s convenient for them to have everything done before I got there so whenever was good for THEM was great for me. I was not in a rush and understood how staffing is an ongoing issue.

I was told to come in that Saturday.
Which is what I did but I was a bit early, traffic was better than I thought and I was excited.

Sadly the vehicle was not ready. It was not clean, did not have the covers from the travel removed completely and none of the items that were “extra” was installed. Nor could it be as the service department was closed on Saturday.

As a consumer, I was not aware they were aftermarket as it was sold as part of the original vehicle.

Despite being there for 4 hours, the vehicle was not in brand new mint condition nor was it clean when I was handed the keys.

I had to return the car for the Home link mirror, interior lighting, cargo mats, cargo cover and crystal fusion. I was told it would take a half day. I had the vehicle there on time for the appointment after getting a ride home.

At 4 pm I was advised that they were only able to do the crystal fusion and that it would now be ready the next day. Unfortunately I had to be a whiny customer in order to get a loaner as they didn’t really care that it was an inconvenience or I had to go to work or arrange for a ride there.

Upon picking up the loaner, the process treats you like they don’t know you, requiring copy of a credit card, license and insurance AND a walk around of the loaner. Oh and don’t use any of the loaner vehicles gas.

Upon being told that it was completed and giving me an attitude that I was the problem for even wanting know how the interior light system worked or to check it out, it was obvious that I was not welcome.

On the ride home it was discovered that the EPB Warning light was now engaged. I followed the instructions but it had to return it again.

I was told it first had to do with the light installation and then the home link installation. Matt in the service department claimed, “I drove it myself and parked it so it’s fine” in a manner which was not to be argued with, as he obviously knew what he was doing and I did not.

My brand new $50,000 vehicle is dirtier than it started at the dealership (not sure what crystal fusion is or what but one would think bird dodo would be in the way ) including bird poop and interior messes up n the floor.

As of Friday 10/20/22, the vehicle is being inspected by a licensed neutral professional to insure the repair was done properly as I don’t trust Chuck Olson to tell the truth or even care about their customer after getting the sale. I am paying for this out of pocket and having to rent a car in the meantime.

But absolutely no one cared at Chuck Olson. Not our sales person Rob or David or the person who claimed he’d bring it to management.(Mohammad). Not the service department Rick or Matt or anyone. I spoke directly with the “manager” and David who both said they would take care of the situation.

Absolutely nothing. No response, nothing.

Every sportage is awesome and sold before it’s even made. You have options. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

I didn’t think I asked for much. A vehicle I paid for that was clean and safe. I didn’t want anything free or special.

Some customer service, follow up and empathy would have changed the situation completely. If I had the ability, I would return the car to Chuck Olson just to get a different dealer. The vehicle is amazing

Bad dealership
My son was lied to by a salesman Jacob. They stated a car would be available to purchase at 9am in the morning, to fist come first serve. He drives all they way down to the dealership from Marysville showed up at 8:55 and waited 5 mins and then called the salesman saying he was outside ready to buy the car. Jacob tells my son sorry we sold the car 45 mins ago. I know that Chuck Olsen would be rolling in his grave to see how you are ruining his name.

Massive hours with no break or paid overtime
If you take a job as a service advisor at this dealership you need to be warned. I worked here and got three days of training at which point I was left to figure out the rest with the disclaimer if you don't know then ask. But here's the deal with that: If I don't know then I don't know to ask.

Expect 11+ hour shifts with no break, 5 days a week. Good luck with that home life.

Expect no paid overtime, and 1500 a month plus 3.5% commission.

Expect policy changes every day, then the day after the policy change expect to be lectured on not following the policy since day one with the reason being, it is service advising 101. Never mind in your three days of training this policy wasn't followed though it is "Service Advising 101"

Not a good place to work, no home life, no break, 11 hour shifts, no pay for the mass amount of over time, and constantly changing policy.

My car was stolen...
Kia has sold thousands of cars that have bad door handles. No damage to them but they just stop working- pull the handle (from inside or out) and nothing happens. After many complaints to NHTSA, KIA was ordered to replace them for free (NHTSA bulletin # 3174742). My 2011 Sorento had both back doors suddenly fail. I was told that they would examine the doors to make sure I hadn't damage them (minimum charge $140, but no charge if they found that the breakage wasn't my fault). Chuck Olsen's service manager examined them and certified that there was no external damage and scheduled a free replacement. When arrived for my appointment the service department refused to do the repairs. Why? My car had been stolen a year back. The insurance paid out but soon thereafter the car was found- undamaged from the joy ride that the thieves took it on. Because the insurance had paid out the car got a special 'brand' on the title. No I am told I am no longer eligible for any recalls or dealer assistance. I repeat- there was NO damage to the vehicle. The car was stolen in Oregon, and they have 3 different kinds of brands. I got the 'undamaged' brand but KIA doesn't recognize the distinction.
Chuck Olson told me repeatedly and proudly that 'NHTSA only ordered us to replace the front door handles, not the back seat ones. They would gladly replace them if They (Chuck Olson) thought it was a safety issue, but opening and closing the back doors is NOT a safety issue). To be clear- if I have kids in the back seat, they cannot get out! And I cannot open the doors from the outside to get them out- but that is not a safety issue for Chuck Olson KIA.
Up until that day I was completely pleased with Chuck Olson KIA. Now I am completely disgusted.

The professionalism, friendliness and knowledge of both Spencer in Sales and Josh Financial Mgr made this a very positive experience for me.I felt as though I was the only customer!

Service? I don't think so
I wanted a manual transmission. Kia and Hyundai both offer a model with one. However, a backup camera was also a necessity and the Kia Forte LX does not have one. Christopher B., my salesman, offered a good deal on a 2018 Forte and led me to believe that Car Toys could install a camera for "$250-$450". Although I researched both Hyundai and Kia, I did not research Car Toys. The quoted cost to install the camera I wanted was $1,000. The Hyundai model comes with a camera already installed and was a similar price to the Kia. The next day, when I asked Christopher about the discrepancy, he admitted he was just trying to close the deal on the car. Used car salesman have been the butt of jokes for decades. I'm sorry to say, new car salesmen may be just as misleading. I understand a salesman's job is to sell cars, but a win for the salesman should not be a loss for the customer. On Tuesday, I spoke to Heath, the manager. He said his salesman never lies but offered to see what he could do to help me get a reasonably priced camera and stated he would call within 24 hours. 50 hours later, I called him back and was told he'd been out of the office the past 49 hours and 50 minutes. No apology, just defensive justifications. Again he said he would call back in 15 minutes. After 30 minutes with no call, I realized these people have no interest in customer service. I worked in the field for 30 years and would have reprimanded, if not dismissed for treating any of my customers like this. On a brighter note, Keaton, the finance guy, was efficient and pleasant. Also gave a good cash deal. I'm also very pleased with the car.

Car showing on their website For Sale
So I was online looking for an inexpensive car to leave at the airport when I travel each week for work. Came across a 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor LS. The comments read the following "RUNS GREAT!!!! This is a Local Trade that has Room to Spare, Straight Body, Clean Interior, Very Very Well driven and Maintained, Ready to WOW with its Overall Condition! Inspected, Serviced and Detailed, Call us Today! ".

When you look at the car you see it is filthy dirty, does not look like they inspected it, and has been in an accident. What liars & cheats. They did not even change the license plate frames to have their dealership name on it. It says AUTOPLEX MOTORS in Lynnwood. Buyers be careful here..... They are more interested in taking your money as soon as a car comes in trade and cheating you......

Worst Experience Ever!
Absolute CON ARTISTS! I purchased a vehicle in July of this year. The process is no different than any other sleazy car dealers. First the entire process took 4 hours. We had excellent credit so no need to haggle, the price had already been determined over the phone prior to even showing up at the dealership. All we had to do was show up and sign the papers. But first, we went back and forth about the interest rate. Second, they tried to low ball me on my trade in. Finally, I purchased the Gap insurance for $895 which I found out later I could purchased through my own insurance company for $6 a month. So I cancelled within 30 days for a refund. I'm still waiting on my refund check FROM JULY, even though I was told that it was "mailed out" last Friday with a UPS tracking number that states it was never picked up. Love my new car, but HATE the dealer! Save yourself the headache and just avoid them.
