I took my car to Certified Car Care because I thought it had a valve ping. I was told it was nothing serious but I would need to replace the harmonic balance wheel before the engine could be properly timed. The next day and $ 400 later I was told the engine had a bad rod knock and the estimated repair bill would be $ 2500 to $ 3500. Obviously if I had been told the real problem first I would not have wasted $ 400 on a needless repair. I have since taken the car to a more professional mechanic who diagnosed the problem correctly the first time and is billing me $ 750 to correct the problem. I feel I got nothing for my $ 400 from Certified Car Care because the mechanic obviously could not tell a timing problem from a rod knock. I would obviously not do business with Certified Car Care in the future.
