I took my car into a local Jiffy Lube for a routine oil change and they informed me that I had a major oil leak. So I googled around and this place had a lot of positive reviews so I decided to give them a try.
First visit:
They informed me that they needed to clean the inside enough for them to see the problem. They charged me $700 for this. I accepted that if I had a major oil leak, then it probably was messy and hard to see the issue so I paid.
Second visit:
I was informed that the charge for all the work that would need to be done was $2030 including both parts and labor. This seemed very steep to me, but, again relying on the good reviews, I paid and they "fixed" the issue.
Third visit:
Less than three weeks later, the check engine light comes on, so I take the car in and they say it is likely an exhaust issue of some kind. Possibly a blockage. They need an extended amount of time to poke around inside. I did not have the time at the moment, so I said I would come back another day...but that I expected this to be free of charge given the amount I'd paid to date for a simple oil leak.
Fourth visit:
To their credit, they did fix that issue and did not charge for it. Unfortunately...
I went in for another oil change with Jiffy Lube because the Oil Light came on with my car less than three weeks later. At that time, Jiffy Lube informed me that I had...a major oil leak.
I don't know if this place is full of scam artists or is just purely incompetent, but I'd look elsewhere.
