frequently disappointed
I own 2 Hyundai Santa Fe's and have owned another in the past. It has been my intention to replace our present vehicles with Hyundai Palisades in the near future but I'm reconsidering that decision based on my service experience at Betten Hyundai. My wife's car (2014) had an issue last week. It wouldn't start so we had it towed to Betten for repair. It was "diagnosed" as a failed alternator and dead battery. It took 2 days for them to repair and return the car to us. We then drove it to Detroit for the weekend and it had an unusual engine noise that we hadn't heard before. We returned the car to the dealership 2 days ago and they "diagnosed" a problem with the linkage. WHAT? How did this happen? So soon after it was serviced at the same place? She was told that the repair would take several days but they wouldn not charge for the labor (I should hope not)! She asked for a courtesy car while the repairs were performed and was told that one would be available the next day ( it wasn't), but she was told she was "first on the list." I called for an update today but the service tech was at lunch and unavailable for an update. When I inquired about the courtesy car the "service dept manager" was surprised at my request and questioned who would make such an offer because these vehicles were reserved for Hyundai warranty work only. Well, we weren't lying !!!!!! I then asked to speak to the general manager and was told that they didn't have one. i then requested a phone call from the general manager of all of the Betten-Baker dealerhips, only to be informed that they didn't have one of those either. I then requested a call from one of the owners and this request was denied as well! So much for customer satisfaction. I'll be voicing my displeasure with Hyundai corporate customer service. I will reconsider my decision to replace either of my cars with another Hyundai. My Auto Import is nearby and I have never been disappointed with their service (my children own Subaru's).
