Service of ac under warranty
I was charged nearly $500 to put some refrigerant in my AC unit. The car has 30,000 miles on it save yourself $500 and go to your local mechanic might get some grease on your car but won’t cost you that much money.

I was told not to come back after I disagreed with their service by both the service and a manager
I was told my cabin filter needed to be replaced in May and I had it replaced. I drove it home which is about two hundred miles and had no need to turn on the air. When I did turn on the air, I noticed a loud sound as if the filter had been improperly installed. I was told the 200 miles home is more than a test drive and anything that happened was after the initial event and therefore, my fault. When I disagreed with this assessment, I was told not to come back by both the service dept and a manager. I guess disagreeing with their assessment isn't something they tolerate.

Worst place to buy a car. After I'd been there about six times without an issue I went and disagreed with what they were saying, I felt they were causing a problem so they could later have to fix it. When I voiced my opinion, I was told I was being negative and to come back. To be clear, my discussion was on the phone and not at the dealership.

Shady service department not addressing a publicly known excessive oil consumption issue!!!!
Wasting more of my time waiting for yet another oil consumption check on my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. This will be check #4, but the lovely service department never recorded one of them so here I sit again with no one here having a clue what it is I am even having monitored to try and move to the next phase of testing to confirm my engine is in fact burning far more than the 1 quart per 1000 miles deemed "appropriate" per Hyundai standards. Now they just came out and told me that my oil level was perfect even though the last check 1000 miles ago I was 1.8 quarts low and my vehicle has been at least 1.25 or more quarts low the last three checks!!! I emailed the service manager Mike Jersett back on July 7, 2023 expressing my dissatisfaction with his service personnel not recording one of my checks and that I wanted him to contact me to discuss the process of getting my vehicle moved to the next testing phase and got absolutely no reply. Talk about absolute dismal customer service. Shame on you Bergstrom Hyundai for allowing a customer who has taken impeccable care of their vehicle have to jump through hoops with no real assistance in getting a known issue with a pending class action lawsuit handled in an appropriate timeframe. I do not have the time to be dealing with this, but now I will be forced to start contacting every single person I can within Bergstrom and Hyundai until someone does something to rectify the situation. You know of the issues with these engines, so do the right thing and take care of your loyal customers. I am at the end of my patience and call bullshit that the last check it was 1.8 quarts low and today my level is perfect. I will be recording every single visit from here on out because that change in consumption in 1000 miles isn't even close to believable. If I have to go to Tim Bergstrom and then hire an attorney I will. Make this right or I will blast you on every social media site there is and from the sounds of it most people I know can't stand Bergstrom to begin with so spreading the word not to buy from or use your service department should not be difficult.

Great experience with Gary Schmelling
I needed 6 spark plug change and received a price quote which was hundreds less than other mechanics gave. I called back to ask if quote was for 4, rather than 6 plugs. They confirmed it was for 6 plugs so I scheduled appointment. When I arrived for appointment, I asked Gary to confirm before doing the work. He reviewed it and said it was wrongly quoted and should be much higher, but he would make it right for me. The price he was able to give me was still lower than other mechanics quoted, so I was very pleased. I feel Gary Schmelling went above and beyond to help me. Carl r

Very Disappointing Experience
I bought a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe from another dealer in early September 2022. Upon purchase, we were informed of a recall on the windshield that needed to be taken care of. This is required to be repaired at a Hyundai dealer so I scheduled an appt online at Bergstrom Hyundai in mid-September. After getting to my appt, I was told that they couldn't complete the recall that day because it was a two day repair and they did not have any loaner cars available. I couldn't be without a car that long so I opted to wait it out until they had a loaner car available. I was told they would call me as soon as one became available. THREE MONTHS LATER... now December, I called to see what was going on. The lady on the phone wouldn't schedule because she "didn't know if they ordered parts yet" and she had to have someone call me back before they could schedule. IT HAD BEEN THREE MONTHS... also I was told this would be completed in coordination with Tri-City Glass so I didn't understand what parts we could be waiting for. FOUR DAYS LATER... no one called me back. I called again... the guy I talked to said "we have loaner cars and we have for awhile". I'm glad I was a priority for a call. I opted to skip the loaner car at that point and just bring the car in when I had a week vacation. I dropped off on a Tuesday. A couple hours later I got a call that they actually couldn't get the repair until Wednesday. Fine, I have all week. Then Thursday at noon, I get notified it was ready. I go pick it up and the car was DISGUSTING. Dirt, grease, dust, stains. LITERALLY EVERYWHERE, including the back seat. My car has tan interior now covered in black dirt, seats included. I'm not sure why the car wasn't protected prior to sanding, grinding, etc. I called to tell them how dissatisfied I was that the car was returned, not in the condition it was dropped off. They did have me bring it back in and 40 minutes later it was cleaned. I'm really disappointed in the lack of care for my car while it was there and the quality control that was clearly lacking. This whole experience made me feel very undervalued as a customer and like this was an inconvenience to them. I would not go back for any service in the future.

I appreciate Gary at Hyundai because he had a lot going on with construction, new software, an evacuation etc and still got my car serviced, got me a shuttle and is very personable and easy to work with.

Bergstrom Hyundai is always very clean and a super friendly staff, and always easy too work with. I always expect a hassle because of my past experience with other dealerships, but not at Bergstrom.. The way things are going I plan on purchasing my next vehicle from Bergstrom..

Service Very Disappointing!
I was last at Bergstrom Victory Imports for a semi-synthetic oil change. I was quoted one price but the actual cost was half again as much. This caused my initial frustration. While the invoice did say, ‘prices vary’ the service advisor made no mention of any up charges for the oil change I was requesting when I dropped the car off and I figured that it was referring to a large vehicle needing more oil. I drive a Hyundai Elantra and remain baffled at how a small car such as that would require an up charge.

What disappointed me even more than the misleading estimated price is the way the service manager handled the situation when I brought it to his attention. I found the interaction to be extremely unprofessional. At one point in the conversation he said “can’t you read.” He also stated that I shouldn’t be upset and “is this additional charge really going to break the bank?” I found that to be very insensitive, given that he has no idea what my financial situation is. I ultimately paid the charges but let him know that I would tell others of my experience. At that point he once again took a hostile, condescending tone. This time he said that none of it was his fault and blamed the error on the computer software. He stated the software is not capable of giving an accurate estimate for any vehicle because they are all different and that it is impossible to fix the software. I wonder what vehicle the base price is designed for or if no vehicle would qualify for that price.

When discussing a warranty issue of the back-up camera malfunctioning, the man sitting beside the manager told me I shouldn’t need a back-up camera-just turn my head. I feel this was once again unprofessional bordering on disrespectful. While it is not super difficult to back-up without a camera the car has one that is warranted so I would like for it to work properly.

Once I returned to my car, I found a panel on the passenger seat that was left off from wherever it was supposed to go so I went back inside once more to have this put back on. Instead of apologizing or saying nothing the service advisor made a couple more rude sarcastic comments. I guess it was a fitting end to the visit. Needless to say, I will not be returning any time soon.

Super Service Dept.
The facility is always very clean, staff is always friendly and easy to work with. I had a couple of recalls and warranty work and they handled it with no issues. So far my experience with the few service appointments I have had have been spot on. Bergstrom has a top notch service department for Hyundai.
