I am following up on the conversation we had this morning about your 1985 Toyota you brought to our shop on Saturday 6/20/2015. You asked my service advisor to diagnose why your vehicle would intermittently all of a sudden stall out while driving and/or coming to a stop and then restart after sitting for awhile. The cost for Diagnostic Troubleshooting is $89.99.
My technician could not duplicate those symptoms while test driving. He scanned your vehicle’s computer for any current, pending, or history Diagnostic Troubleshooting codes and found none. He tested all primary and secondary ignition components, fuel pump pressure and volume, temperature sensors, EGR Valve system, and Starting/Charging systems, all systems that could possibly create the symptoms you experienced. All systems test results passed at that time with the exception of a bad positive battery cable end, which we replaced at no charge.
My service advisor discussed those results and asked to keep the car until Monday so we could continue to re-test all systems and hopefully duplicate what you experienced. You were unable to leave the vehicle with us, so you paid us for the original troubleshooting and picked up the vehicle. My service advisor again informed you to let us know when you could bring the car back to us for further testing.
I am confused with the poor review you posted about your visit with us and how we could have handled this differently.
