Very good but lots of room for improvement
I purchased a 2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD as a CPO with 20k miles. Things I love: The cooled and ventilated seats, the seat extender for tall people, the heated steering wheel, the digital dashboard, all the safety features like lane departure warning, automatic emergency breaking, blindspor assist...
The car has a great and not too firm suspension that ia on the level of much more expensive luxury cars. Acceleration is good but not great, you need a heavy foot to keep up with the Audi or BMW with similar horse power, BMW 535 and 540 will make you feel like you’re standing...anyhow the engine is not the Genesis sweet spot. Exspect 18-21 MpG in real life and a more relaxed drivestyle would suit you better. For the life of me I cannot understand why this car did not come with standard fog lights and why you can only have one phone at the time connected. ( Subaru can show them that two works without a problem). The tranny is a little nervous at times and struggles to find the right gear, but again, I compare that to a MB that I owned before which was overall more refined and more responsive with a similar size engine. It also did not make those mysterious chassis noises that are typically associated with less refined manufacturing quality. So what is the take-away? The Genesis has no contenders when compared to value received for purchase price as a 3y old CPO. You simply cannot go wrong. If you can live with “very good” versus “outstanding exceptional “ this is your car. If not, buy a Audi A6 3.0 Prestige Quattro (fully loaded) and pay the price.
