Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear about the frustration and want to help clarify what we found during your visit.
When your vehicle was inspected, the technician did not find any active leaking at the transmission dipstick tube - it was dry and free of leaks at that time. However, we did observe fluid around the transmission pan, which appears to be an aftermarket deep pan that you had recently installed, as well as a separate leak at the transfer case. Based on those findings, our recommendation was to reseal the transmission pan and address the transfer case leak, then recheck for any remaining issues afterward. We also want to clarify that we did not state the engine would need to be removed to replace the dipstick tube seal.
We understand your concern, especially if the dipstick tube was found loose afterward, it was not at the time of insepection. Intermittent or position-dependent leaks can sometimes be difficult to pinpoint during a single inspection, particularly when multiple aftermarket components are involved.
Our goal is always to provide accurate information and prioritize repairs based on what we can verify during inspection. We appreciate your feedback and would be happy to take another look with you to ensure everything is properly identified and resolved.
I got the van home and looked myself to find the dipstick tube totally loose. I was pretty specific on what I wanted.
