Three strikes and you're out
I made an appt for two tires to be replaced on our car. After sitting there for over 40 minutes, a manager came out to me to say that they can't replace two tires on AWD vehicles and then stood there waiting for an answer. I asked why not...got some response about 5/32nds differences, etc. I would need to buy 4 tires. I told him 'not going to happen today' and he responded that they'd put it 'back together' and have it ready in a few minutes. My car is AWD - it is on the car on the outside. He claimed the mechanic didn't walk around the car...wrong, he had told me they measured the tread on 4 tires, so someone DID walk around the car...BEFORE they took the front tires off (the ones to be replaced)... they KNEW it was AWD. But they made me wait 40+ minutes to tell me I'd need 4 tires, not 2. My time is just as valuable as theirs. But, I am a woman, and this is the 3rd time I have been talked down to/lied to by a University Tire & Auto salesperson - at this branch twice now and once at another Cville store. They COULD have told me in the first 5 minutes, and been honest about it. But they didn't. So they don't get a 4th try at taking me 'for a ride'.
