After returning my Santa Fe with over-limit mileage, Sonny offered me a Tucson lease for $600/month with $4,000 down (4 years). He promised, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll get you out of this lease in a year with a better, cheaper deal.’ On that promise, I agreed.
Now, a year and a half later, he says there’s nothing he can do. Every option he offered me was worse than the last: first he told me to buy the Tucson I’m leasing for over $50K; then he suggested moving me into a “cheaper” Elantra lease, which still added up to over $50K; finally, he said he could put me in a used car — same overpriced situation. No real solution, just more ways for me to lose money.
The Tucson itself costs about $25K new, yet I’ll pay over $32K in lease payments — and if I buy it at the end, they want another $20K, meaning I’d pay $50K+ for a $25K car.
This feels deceptive and predatory. Do not rely on verbal promises here — get everything in writing. I was a loyal customer for years, and I was taken advantage of. Towne Hyundai has lost all my trust. Avoid this place.
