Didn't Live Up To Expectations

It all began in October 2024. Being a follower of the Magic Mechanic Radio Show, we decided to call in about a particular problem we were having starting up our truck. Larry Perry suggested we call a contact of his who could actually come to us and check out our situation. That sounded good since we lived two counties away. I called the number provided and was connected with the location on Lee Rd, Orlando (30 mi one way via I-4). I was informed contrary to the show conversation that they don't come to you, you have to go to them. If anyone knows that roadway like I did after commuting it for over 21-years, it wasn't overjoyed by the prospect. Well, my wife and I made the trip caravan-style, November 4, with her following in our second car, a compact that I couldn't adjust the seat to drive, only she could drive it (this important for later). We got there and there was a diagnostic fee of over $110. We left the truck for a couple of days. By the 6th we were informed the work was done. We once again made the 60 total miles trip to retrieve our truck. They said the starting problem didn't present itself under their inspection, but a wiring harness that looked burned was replaced. The total bill was $442.93. This would've been fine but days later, when my wife was in ICU in Ormond Beach the truck wouldn't start. For over 10 days when I had to drive to the hospital to be with my wife, I had to jump start the truck to get it going. When I had the opportunity, I contacted the Magic Mechanic location to explain there was a problem, the truck wasn't fixed. I was told that I could bring the truck back and let them work on it some more. How would I get back with my wife still in ICU? I asked about a loner vehicle. One wasn't available. Instead, it was suggested I rent a car. At this point, I told them I wasn't comfortable with returning the vehicle and getting a rental. I asked if I could get a partial refund on the total bill, since the problem appeared to be unresolved. I was told that wasn't possible. They wouldn't work with me. As a result, I continued jump starting my truck so that I could be with my wife and eventually get home before Thanksgiving. In the meantime, I took my vehicle to a local business to see if the starting issue could be figured out. Through a process of elimination and further testing, it was determined that my truck had a bad battery. The problem with starting my truck was solved for a fraction of what I had already paid by replacing the battery. After all of this, I can't really give much of a rating on the work of Magic Mechanic or the radio show.

Would not go anyplace for my car service

Bought my 2009 Lexus in 2005 with 75K miles on it. It now has 178K (even with 2 years of COVID not driving anywhere) and the only place I have and will ever take it is to Magic Mechanic. With the top notch mechanics, great service and superior products, it's a no-brainer. I've had multiple oil changes (most recent last week), brake jobs, one mechanical repair and more. BTW-the ICE treatment for the AC-what a deal ! Seems pricey at first but it's a one-time fix and my AC has kept me cool and comfortable throughout several of the hottest of Florida summers. Just wish I could put it in my home AC.

Transmission fluid and door handle problem

We have been going to the Magic mechanic for many years. Only using Amsoil fluids and our cars have fewer problems.
After diagnosing problem with door handle(everything in good shape) it somehow came detached. Told if it happened again there will be no charge for labor only part if needed.
I am sure other places would look to make more $$$ if a next visit was needed.

I would trust my wife and daughter to show up alone

I started taking my family cars pretty much since this place opened. I have no issues sending my wife and daughter to Magic Mechanic and am certain that J.D. Runner will not take advantage. If you want something done right....these are the guys. Ain't the cheapest...but worth every penny for their skilled labor and without worry of 'buyer's remorse'.

I had a 3:00 appointment for an oil change and filter. My car was in the bay precisely at 3:00 and the service was completed in a very timely fashion.

The Magic Mechanic has always provided excellent service in a timely fashion by well trained personnel. I have taken my cars in for various reasons over the years and never been disappointed with their work.

JD is truly AWESOME to work with, if it wasn't for him I probably won't go to Magic Mechanic!!

JD knows what a problem is when you have no idea what's wrong. He gets what's needed and takes care of you immediately. Very Knowledgeable!!! Wonderful service and the Dodge worker knows his stuff and takes great care of your car. I have an issue with the car that JD let me know about and the cost of the items, he great. I'll have it taken care of when I go for the oil change coming up. Thank you so much!

Oil Change Service

I called for an appointment, was scheduled for the next day. I arrived 10 minutes early, my vehicle was immediately moved into the shop for service. The service was completed in a timely manner and I was on my way. I have used Magic Mechanic for at least ten years and have always been completely satisfied with their service. I would definitely recommend them and also Larry's radio show on Saturday afternoons.

Using Amsoil 110,000 miles

Been using Amsoil for about 110,000 miles, made an appointment and was in and out when promised.
They are not like the quickie oil change places, they will give the vehicle time to properly drain while checking other areas for problems.
In addition they use a very high quality oil filter which is the other half of keeping a vehicle in great running condition.

Fix speedo on 91 JGW

Appreciate your repairing Speedometer in a timely manner. Went down hill from there. You guys left inside light on which drained battery. Had to jump start truck in your parking lot to leave. Last night found out that several of my dashboard lights no longer work nor does my rear window which I operated when I brought truck to your shop last week. I suspect you had to get up under the dash to connect speedometer cable? Could that have caused lights and window to stop operating? Please call to discuss. 407-463-2787

Excellent repair for my 1988 Isuzu Truck.

Today’s visit was to pick up my 1988 Isuzu truck. When I started the truck it was like starting a new truck, unbelievable. The engine was rebuilt with new parts and now it runs better than new. The Magic Mechanic team when out of their way to get the necessary parts needed to rebuild this 30 year old engine back to life. Mr. Larry Perry was overwhelmed on how my truck was running when he road tested and that means a lot coming from the owner of The Magic Mechanic Inc and his expertise.
