We had a good run......
My wife had her oil changed here about a week ago just as she had done several times before. Never had any problems and actually was very pleased with them. This time,however, shortly after picking her vehicle up the check engine light came on( before she even got home). They had noted that the coolant was low so I thought maybe that was the cause. Filled coolant and check engine light remained. Stopped by an Auto Zone amd had codes pulled (for free) and was given an oil pressure sensor switch code. Seemed kind of odd an oil related code came up just after having it serviced but anythings possible Took it back to Telle and told them the error code we got andSceduled an appointment with them. They ran diagnostic(for $130) and came up with oil pressure circuit low and upon inspection found out that theoil filter adaptercwas leaking. My wife noted it was odd that this developed right after our oil change. She was assured that this was common in her model car and that it just happens that way sometimes. I knew little about oil filter adapter(oil cooler assembly) so I did some research and found out that is does sometimes have a tendency to leak in some cases but that the most common cause for it was overtightening of the oil filter,cracking the plastic part. Now it would be impossibe to prove when and or how the part starting leaking but it sure cast some doubt on the random possibility the thing was already cracked befoe oil change. Did the tech use a torque wrench ? I dont know. I could probably even eat a couple hundred dollar mystery given the track record of excellent interaction with this shop but 1000 dollars of this sucks. Ouch. Anyway it would be hard for me to recommend this shop but I would not discourage it either. What I would recommend though,is reassert their techs to strive for excellence in everything they do from oil changes to tires to major overhauls so that they can confidently share and convey to their customers that evetything was done professionally and according to spec in servicings. To most of us 1000 dollars is a lot of money. To have doubt and suspicion that someone may have dropped the ball and it cost me alot
