The Best
We have trusted this shop with numerous vehicles over the years since the early 90s. They have always been fair & honest and thorough and their work is excellent. They have helped us make decisions about various vehicle issues and specific automobiles. We have never been disappointed. Joe (the owner) is a great person. We would never trust our cars with anyone else.

Excellent Service on 2008 Corvette
I have a 2008 Corvette that I haven't driven in a few years. The Guys were very thorough and went out of their way for me & did a fantastic job. Very happy with the timely and quality service as well as fair pricing. I highly recommend Stephens Automotive.

Best experience in years...
Prompt, professional, priced well for high quality service. Provided photos to support diagnostics and didn’t try to sell unnecessary services. I plan to return to Stephens vice places closer to me. I own 4 cars and they earned my trust!!

No worries
I drive a 20 year old QX4. The running boards and wheel well inserts were hanging on by a “rusty” thread. Joe accepted the job even though he isn’t an auto body repair shop. Joe and his team worked their magic. They purchased the steel and hardware needed for the repair and got to work. I now have functional, sturdy and safe running boards again. Like in the past , no surprises, no delays, just honest dependable work performed for a fair price. I couldn’t be happier with the finished product .

Joe and his crew Always come thru!
I drive a 20 year old QX4. The running boards and hardware had rusted severely. Joe purchased some replacement steel and brackets. He fabricated a support system and installed it . The running boards are now better than new and completely functional again.
Joe’s expertise came thru again. Thanks Joe!

Honest and Competent
I have been using Stephens Automotive for over 5 years and after every visit I have been impressed with the workmanship and honest and transparent service. Joe and his team are top notch and I heartily recommend them to anyone needing auto repairs.

Always go the extra step
Always upfront and honest, what they are going to repair if it needs more work they
Will always call, no upfront surprises.great customer service great mechanics to work on your vehicle.

I was impressed that after the repair work was done in my car they actually gave me a call about a week and a 1/2 - 2 weeks after I picked it up just to make sure everything was running good and if I had any issues with the repair can't say enough about the quality of the work and the customer service.

Friendly and informative
If you looking for top quality work and friendly service, then these are the guys to go too. Fair pricing and very dependable. I've used them more than once. Give very informative quotes with different options. Never disappointed in there work. I would recommend them to everyone.

If you go anywhere else to get work on your car, your dumb.
If you go anywhere else to get work done on your car, you’re dumb.
I dropped off my VW there to get some work done on the car for and to see what is going on with the car before the weather turns. Right from when I walked into the shop I was greeted with a smile from the young man behind the counter named Chris. He walked me through what they would do for me, and what they suggested for the car before I left it there. Before I left the owner was there as well by the name of Joe. He also had a big smile on his face and just made me feel very good about leaving the car in their hands. They said it would be a hr or so and they would give me a call.
Sure enough the hour goes by and I get a call from Chris. They walked me through what they found, what could be done and what needed to be done with the car. They never made me feel that I had to do everything, but just really wanted to make sure that I understood what and why these things needed to be done. At the end of that short conversation I had them do the main things like the oil change, replace the battery, and all the lights for the breaks, head lights and turn signals.
This is where they really went above and beyond for me. I have had a issue with the driver side control panel since I bought the car. This has always been more inconvenient then a problem for myself, since the window has never been able to go down. They told me what they thought it would be, but they would not know unless they opened the panel up and looked into this. After they got into this and looked at how to solve the issue and gave me their opinion I decided not to do this part. But what was really the thing that stood out to me was that they really walked me through every option and made sense of this. That shows me that the owner has really taught his team to take care of the client first and walk them through so they understand the importance of customer service. The price for the work was very fair and for all he customer service they really stand out
If you are looking for a local place in Palatine to take your car and go anywhere else you’re dumb.
