I wouldn't recommend this dealership. I purchased a car in June 20, 2024 and here it is September 4, 2024 and the car WILL NOT START. I had the car jumped, took it to a shop and the battery had a bad cell. I called the dealership for help a total of 19 times and NEVER did receive any help. I called my sales-man PHIL and he never called back. Prior to the purchase, PHIL called and text constantly, now that something is wrong, I can't get a response from anyone. I did finally speak with the service manager but he said I would have to speak with PHIL about replacing the battery. Let me also add, the battery per PHIL was replaced before I took possession. There was a recall on this car for the starter system kit. When I asked about getting this fixed, all I got was the parts wasn't in. Now the bank wouldn't cut the dealership the check because this wasn't done. PHIL asked me to just tell the bank it was done just to get the check and send us on the way saying they'll call me back once the part is in. Now that was in June and still no call or communication. I then call Hyundai in Huntersville, they fixed the car, and replacing the starter kit. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE OR STEP FOOT ON THE GROUNDS OF SOUTH CHARLOTTE HYUNDAI IN PINEVILLE NC.
I'm also reporting this to Hyundai Main Factory.

I love them until…
I used to love this dealership until they cracked my dash and blamed it on the heat. I took my car in at 8am on a 65 degree rainy day with no cracks in the dashboard. When I got it back 3 hours later, there were 4 cracks in my dashboard, 2 is them large (7-9 inches long). I sent photos as soon as I noticed but had already left the dealership. I went back and they refused to help me and said they were all just heat cracks and it happens to cars. I don’t know what they did to my car while they had it but they’re not taking any blame for the damage!

waste of time
This dealership has the worst people I have ever dealt with. they lied and wasted my time. Niel, Kae, Chris, Jillian and Eric have ruined my week by stringing me along and saying I'd be the first to buy when it was ready. I never had any idea who I was supposed to be working with. This was the most confusing and stressful dealership experience I've ever had. I went in last Tuesday with cash in hand ready to buy, but the salesperson couldn't open the door because the battery was dead. So they were supposed to have it ready Saturday. Then it was Tuesday because no one ever looked at the car and it wasn't ready. Tuesday came and it still wasn't ready. Wednesday came and it was ready. I drive up immediately and when I get there they are holding it for someone else. Bunch of dishonest and shady tactics all around.

Lousy diagnosis and they take no responsibility
Before you take your car in to the South Charlotte Hyundai for repair -- all I can say is owner beware!! I had my car towed to the South Charlotte Service Center and they misdiagnosed my car (which they admitted to). Their mistake cost me over $1,000!

Then, when I tried to get the owner, Anthony Barrerio, to reimburse me for my expenses, Mr. Barrerio ghosted me on my numerous attempts to follow up with him. I was so aggravated by the poor job of South Charlotte Hyundai’s Service Team in conjunction with and the rude handling of the owner, that I wrote the CEO of Hyundai North America! BEWARE!

Great Experience
Went for an oil change and tire rotation, which I usually dred (not because of the dealership) but experience in the past. But they were so accommodating and sweet. Didn’t take long at all

I would have given 5 stars if the waiting room was cleaner and more functional. The bathroom in the waiting room was also dirty. Crystal was great in providing updates on my car's service.
