THE BEST

Angelo and his crew are top-notch, trustworthy, reliable and efficient. We rely on him and his team to perform routine maintenance on our vehicles and to diagnose and fix problems when needed. The front staff is always polite and accommodating as well. I don't know what we'd do with Smithwest Service Center!

Rude Workers

I had several issues with a staff member of SmithWest, that I will list below.
- Didn’t state a price for the cost to repair the car
- Did not inspect the car
- Claimed it was totaled without proper inspection
- Charged us more than was necessary for overnight holding, claiming the large charge was from the town. We later contacted the town and they informed us that they issue no such charge to SmithWest
- The staff member was very rude to us, and was not helpful in the slightest.
- a AAA service member recommended SmithWest to us, after we had already been to SmithWest in the past with 0 issue, even though SmithWest was not a cosmetics/auotbody shop, which the AAA service member claimed it was.

After all these issues, we had the car towed to another location, which was provided by AAA without charge, and the person who now has the car says it is possible for the car to be in drivable condition again, contrary to the comments of the worker with SmithWest.

The large charge has since been disputed by myself and our credit card company, and all is as it should be.

SmithWest did not help us at all.

Dear Customer,

We appreciate your feedback; however, we would like to clarify the details of your experience.

Your son/stepson’s vehicle arrived at our shop with significant front-end damage. As explained by the owner, the term “totaled” referred to the repair costs exceeding the vehicle’s actual value. Prior to the vehicle being brought in, your partner was informed over the phone that we are not a body shop.

We did send photographs of the vehicle to one of the reputable body shops while it was on our property that we do work with and they did in-fact agree that the vehicle would be a total loss as it was a 2009 Infiniti G37 with over 100k miles on it and the vehicle is only worth $3,000.00 in average condition.

Additionally, we were instructed to contact the vehicle’s owner, whom we later learned was an 18-year-old. After speaking with him regarding his budget, he advised us that he would call back. None of his four parents returned our call to discuss the necessary repairs.

Rather than engaging in a conversation about the repairs, you opted to remove the vehicle from our shop. Furthermore, you attempted to offer a quid pro quo arrangement to one of our staff members in exchange for a refund. Despite this, we refunded half of the charges as a courtesy. It is also important to note that you were not charged for the extensive diagnostic time our mechanic spent assessing the vehicle.

We strive to maintain professionalism and clear communication with all our customers. We encourage constructive and respectful dialogue to ensure the best service experience for everyone involved.

Angel the AAA driver was professional and provided recommendation of garage. Smithtown West garage provided detail feedback and was able to fix issue.

Always Trustworthy

I have used Smithwest for over 25 years dating back to when they were on Maple Avenue. They have always provided excellent service and stand behind their work. They are courteous and help to explain what’s wrong with the vehicle and how to best repair the issue. I trust them with all of my vehicles and value their service.
