Unethical, dishonest.
Had car 5 weeks and charged $4400 for used transmission. When car went in no issue with power steering. Despite knowing we have small child in car mechanic was dishonest and a crook. Got car back one week before Christmas and after we paid $4400 power steering does not work properly or efficiently.

Over Charged, Lied To and Threatened by Owner
Dropped my car off for a routine inspection, oil change, and a look at a squeaky belt. They ended up keeping my car for almost 2 months. Tried to get my car back and I was told I would have to pay for a part that was “special order” and couldn’t be cancelled. Talked to the owner, Mark G., agreeing to pay for work requested/performed but not the part they never received or installed into my car. At this point Mark got extremely irate and told me to F**** myself and hung up on me.

Went in to discuss further and the girl at the desk was kind enough let me speak to the supplier directly to confirm it was ordered but while on the phone I was also able to confirm that shop had not been charged for it, and it could be cancelled. So, I cancelled the part myself. Mark came in not long after that and again he lied to my face that it was a special order that couldn’t be cancelled. I told him the order was cancelled and as no one was charged for the part I was not paying for it. I also wanted an itemized receipt of the work performed on my car.

Mark told me he didn’t have that information because apparently even though they had my car for almost 2 months there were no reports in their system on what was done so they would have to “discuss and get back to me”, oh, and it would take about a week for them to “put my car back together” so I could pick it up the following Monday, 6 days from then.

I received my invoice the next day and it was $200 more than the initial quote I was provided and included parts/services I never requested or approved of. Went in again to discuss these new charges with Mark but he literally just shrugged his shoulders and said too bad when I said, “I didn’t approve this work or for you to order these extra parts”, e.g., $103.60 for windshield wipers I never agreed or asked to be replaced.

When I went in to discuss they told me to take my car (magically it was now ready for pickup, what happened to them needed until Monday "to put back together"?) and demanded I pay cash. If I didn’t take my car then and there Mark said he would charge me $125 a day to hold my car until I picked it up.

My wife still had the loner car so I called her to bring it by and told her to get cash on the way. As our bill was over $700 she said she would have to stop at the bank (we don’t normally carry large amounts of cash with us and the ATM limit is $500.) Mark then threatened to call the police on her and report the loner as stolen if she didn’t come and return it right away.

While I was exchanging keys with my wife Mark continued to get even more aggressive. He got in my face demanding his keys back or he would call the police. I told him to stop threatening me, take a step back and I would gladly give him the keys while we finalized the transaction. He said it was his car and he didn’t own us anything and he was going to call the police and tell them we were refusing to hand over the key. Once we gave him the keys he has the audacity to say that it better have a full tank of gas. Like he didn't just threaten us with the police if didn't hand the keys over asap.

So all and all it was NOT a good experience. We were lied to, taken advantage of, threatened and forced to pay for parts/services we did not ask for. Go at your own risk, you have been warned.

Great mechanics and service
I've been using royalty automotive since moving to rochester and was really apprehensive about getting a new mechanic, however i have had nothing but great things to say about them(mechanics and front desk)since. I've used them on several occasions since getting a used Volvo a few years ago and every job they've done for me has been fast, reliable and the cost is definitely not something I can complain about.....I highly recommend them if your looking for an honest mechanic!

Worst Place Ever
I brought my Volvo in to get my AC serviced. I CLEARLY told them why it wasnt working. I go to get my vehicle and they tell me why they couldnt fix my ac! Its the exact same reason why I dropped it off 300$ later and No AC BUT THE OWNER HAS TO PAY HIS WORKERS FOR A LIVING! Excuse me?!

Honest Knowledgeable Mechanics
After my Sons Volvo XC70 2008 broke down close to Royalty Automotive....seeing the Volvo Specialty on the Royalty sign was very comforting. It was after 5PM and after calling Mark he said he could take a look at the car. We left the car with Mark and he took the car into his shop evaluated the issues. Mark then called me with an update of the items he found and cost. The knowledge on the car and its issues was evident in his explanation and honest opinions. We were not a customer before but a "walk In" and Royalty treated me like a king! Royalty were not on my radar as we are an 50 mins drive away. I can tell you its worth every mile and we are planning on getting our inspections, Oil changes and any subsequent issues with the car completed with Mark and his team.

Will only go to Royalty Auto.
The gentleman at Royalty are honest and upfront! They will not "rape" you as I've experienced with other mechanical shops or dealerships! They have always taken care of me since day one, 3 years ago! Even was offered and quite a few times I took them up on their offer for a loaner vechicle. Mark, owner, thank you so much for being so honest and never leaving me unsafe in my vechicle! I know when I leave the shop, I'm all set.

Unprofessional Owner
Bad attitude when questioned on pricing or work being performed takes a defensive stand overly aggressive response's towards customer. Owner does not price search for customer on parts. He marks parts up significantly. Auto Zone selling same part at $77.00 he tried charging me $255.00 When I questioned him on cost he tells me he has got to make a living and to go do the work myself. I ask him to not do the work and I will come by and pick up my car to arrive with my keys under wind shield wipers in the pouring rain. This is the second time that I have brought my car to be serviced at this facility and the attitude was close to the same the first time. I just chose to give him the benefit of the doubt and not comment. I will take my business elsewhere and suggest the same to all considering using Royalty Automotive.

Best Volvo Service
Mark and his team are great. We discovered him years ago when he was in Somersworth. He is knowledgeable, fair and honest. I’m not sure I would let anyone else touch my car.
