My mother in law hydroplaned today, in the pouring rain in Sanger. (Not that it matters but she’s stage 4 cancer).
Randy’s was the tow service called, and she wasn’t really given an option. She had to be moved off of the highway.
My husband is a tow driver in DFW area, and due to the rain couldn’t get there to retrieve the car in time, so he got on the phone with this randy tow driver to discuss what was going to happen and the charge.
Randy’s tow driver (name unknown as he REFUSED to provide it) charged $305 to move it 2 miles off the highway. I know tow rates are high, I’m married to a tow driver.
My husband, asked for a breakdown of charges, ya know hook fee etc. When he who refused to be named, started talking complete SH** to my husband. Saying “you can bring your ass down here if you want to see a breakdown of charges”.
Then ignoring my husbands calls to work something out.
After a lot of bsck and forth straight hatefulness from the driver, my husband said- “just impound it, we will have insurance pay it out”
The fee magically went up to $608 dollars. To go basically nowhere, and again a refusal to offer a breakdown of charges. Cause apparently we don’t have the right to know what the hell we are paying for.
Upon calling the impound lot, which is not a part of Randy’s tow service. We were AGAIN told to f**k off and that we would have to come down there and pay first and then get a breakdown for chargers.
So to refresh- my stage 4 cancer mother in law is in an actual accident and is treated like actual dog shi*t. We were told to eff off when we wanted to understand our tow bill. Our car, likely totaled, is sitting in an impound lot 45 miles from us because homedude refused to give us a price for the body shop we wanted it towed to. (Whoops forgot your mention that part). And no one will help us or remedy the situation.
