We made the unfortunate decision to bring our vehicle to Pete's for service on 7/22/24: check engine light went on a few days before; diagnosed as a failed Bank1 Ignition Knock Sensor by Auto Zone ($79.99 for part); light went off spontaneously but vehicle had poor acceleration, hesitating & chugging till reaching 30-40mph. Pete's said Both sensors needed replacement @$164.15 ea (I bought them from auto zone at half that price & delivered for installation.) Also said new spark plugs, gasket set & throttle body cleaning was needed to fix the acceleration issue. They were informed of the intent to trade the car in - only wanted repairs related to the acceleration issue - I was told these were necessary - agreed & paid $900 cash (to avoid a credit card charge). The vehicle was picked up on 7/24/24 - with a gas gage well below the empty mark & pointed out by the mechanic - realized at the first red light that the acceleration issue was EXACTLY as it was previously. A call was immediately made to Pete's and an appointment to return the following morning was made. The saga continues.
