Top notch service and great people all around
Not only is this the best Subaru dealership in the North East, but it's the best dealership I have ever dealt with. Highest trade-in values, phenomenal discounts on a new car and their service department is incredible. I can't say enough good things about this dealership.

Incompetent and dishonest
Patriot was completely unprepared when I came in to pick up my new car. We were just adding a car-- no trade, just buying a car. The first thing they asked me was "where is your trade?" I ordered the car with a 2" hitch. Subaru does not sell a 2" OEM hitch for the Forester. David Shoemaker, the Sales Manager, did not know this. So, he ordered the car with the wrong hitch. When the car came in and I discovered the hitch did not fit, his service guys said to hit the hitch with a hammer until the 1.25" receiver popped out. The only problem with that? It was welded to the outer housing. No way was it coming off. Ultimately, they took the hitch off and put the right one one. 6 hours of my time (round trip) and they want accolades for "fixing the problem."

Now for the funniest part-- The day before we were supposed to pick up our car, Shoemaker emails me and says he "forgot he was on vacation" and that he would not be there when I picked up my car. Then, later on, he tells me he was NOT on vacation-- that he just didn't come in that day. One of those statements has to be a lie. Do I know which one is? Nope. Doesn't matter. The problem is a lack of honesty, though.

The deal was so screwed up, I asked to be taken off of their email distribution list shortly after we took delivery of he car. Next problem? Shoemaker e-mails me personally... again. And when I review some of my concerns about what happened a year ago, he responds by saying "I should have let you buy your car from a local dealer." Seriously? This guy is so arrogant that he thinks he directs what people buy and when they buy it? The funniest part, though, is that he was stupid enough to put this IN WRITING, to me.

Keep in mind, this is the behavior of the SALES MANAGER of Patriot Subaru. If he acts like this, how do you expect his sales reps are going to act?

Don't say I didn't warn you about these guys. Don't buy a car from Patriot Subaru.

Inspection
I arrived for my state inspection sticker they recommended an oil and air filter change which I agreed to but when it was time to pick up my car I was told they had run of of inspection stickers and would need to make another appointment.This should have been told to me before my arrival since this is a 40 minute drive I obviously would have rescheduled . This was extremely inconvenient and no one at cared. Will not go back.

Maintenance service - inspection sticker & oil change
Excellent experience with our service appointment this morning. Our service advisor, Stefanie Marcisso was really pleasant. We had a missing wiper blade part (plastic cover on the hinge) that she noticed and find a replacement for us right away. Excellent customer service like this is unusual these days. They treated us like VIP customers despite the fact that we didn’t even buy our car here! Our mechanic recommended them for a manufacturer recall service. We will definitely buy our cars here from now on due to this 5 star service. Also the waiting room was very nice.

EXPERIENCE
Mike Avery and his team get a five star rating for their efforts and patience !
Took the granddaughter there to buy a car her first purchase. Mike and his team mates were so kind and took extra time to make sure she was comfortable and got something she could afford. Very impressed with everyone in the transaction. I would feel comfortable sending any of my children or grandchildren to Patriot Subaru by themselves to buy their first car because they are honest and truly care about their future customers !!

State inspections and service
Online scheduling doesn’t work and hasn’t for a year. Scheduling a State Inspection and service is over a month out now, which went from 10-14 days a year ago. Place has gone downhill since a year ago.

Buyer beware
By far the worst service staff I have ever dealt with. Make sure you verify everything has been checked with your used car as I drove off the lot with no engine coolant and less than half life on brakes that now have to be replaced after 6k miles. And trying to get any response/resolution has taken 8 months. Love my car just not the service around it. Buyer beware

Terrible
Made an appointment on Thursday to look at a used vehicle on Saturday, made the 40 minute drive to look at the vehicle only to be told that they had sold it wholesale that morning.
Wow, what bad business, and no phone call to tell me.
Shame on you Patriots Subaru, your Loss as I had the cash to buy the GMC I was interested in.
My second choice was a Subaru, which I would have looked at had you not been so rude and inconsiderate.

No pressure!
A friendly salesman that listened to our needs and did not put pressure on us to buy. Went back in a week later with our down payment he came over to speak to us and even remember our names and again offered his assistance if I ever had any issues about the car. Bryan Corliss is the kind of salesman we like to deal with!!!!

The sales staff.
We were impressed with your sales staff and in particular, Mike MacDonald. He listened, answered questions and offered information in a professional manner without ever forcing any issue. His demeanor is why we wanted to work with him. We also found other staff to be courteous and helpful and never pushy.

I was taken on time and had great service. The staff is always very friendly.
Wonderful place to do business. Overall I do enjoy the SUV . I do not enjoy getting calls about extended warranty for over $3.000.00 for a new vehicle . It puts questions in your mind.
