My 1980 antique Chevy Luv truck finally died so I had it towed to Olde Town Garage via a recommendation by my son-in-law. The motor tech, Ian Trom diagnosed the problem as indeed a fatally frozen motor, and recommended either another truck or another motor. They located a "fit" and offered to install this motor for about $700.00. My wife and I had many years with this old but useful truck and decided to repair the motor rather than replace this wonderful old truck. We told the Ian to go ahead and replace our dead motor with this newly located one. He reassured us, once installed, the motor comes with 30 day guarantee in case there are any problems. About two weeks later on Friday Nov. 3rd, Olde Town tech staff Amanda called to tell us our truck is ready for pick up. Although the truck started up fine, it had an unpleasant knocking noise in the motor. Ian said to run the truck over the weekend and if the noise is still there on Monday, bring it back. By Monday, the noise was not only still there, but worse. Over the week, Amanda kept us abreast of there repair efforts by letting us know that Ian diagnosed the knocking noise as faulty main bearings which he will replace. Then on Nov. 16, Amanda called for us to come and pick up the truck with new main bearings (and no knocking noise). The Chevy Luv runs better than it has in years. I am really impressed with the conscientious people at Olde Town Garage. They are truly first rate in not only their technical repair skills, but in their people skills in dealing with the public. I rate them 5 stars all the way!
