Repeated frustration with this dealer - both the service and sales departments
I have had numerous dealings with this dealership over the last few years, and while they generally EVENTUALLY come through, I never go away without feeling great frustration. The service department is incredibly poorly managed. Communication is very poor. In one case they told me the repair was done, only to tell me as I was about to drive away that it had not been done, so I had to come back the next day. The service rep somehow got the idea that the mechanic had cleared it when he hadn't. They did eventually get it fixed right. On another occasion I had a complex issue with another dealer that was trying to communicate back and forth with Murdock, and the other dealer could never get through to them, so I had to drive over to Murdock (about 25 minutes away) several times, just to talk to someone face to face to find out what was going on.

A few months ago I purchased a used Audi Q7 from Murdock, only to find out when I began having some transmission issues that the transmission fluid was ancient - it was black and stinky and my mechanic said it was roughly 60-80,000 miles overdue for a flush! Admittedly, the 90 day warranty was expired, so they were under no formal obligation to do anything about it, but since I had only driven less than 3500 miles, and there was absolutely no way that the fluid was acceptable when I purchased the vehicle I called them up, hoping that they might stand behind their product and their poor inspection. Yet they claimed that the person who inspected the vehicle did NOT recommend that it be changed! Because the 90-day warranty had lapsed, they were unwilling to take any responsibility for selling a vehicle with filthy transmission fluid. As a result, I will probably have to pay for a new transmission after having driven it only a few thousand miles.

Needless to say, I will never have any further dealings with Murdock Hyndai. One interesting point is that on several occasions when I express my frustration to the employees, they often act rather apologetic, as though they are perfectly aware of how lousy and poorly run the company is, but of course they can do nothing about it.
