We charge for diagnostic time because it does take some of the technician's time to verify the problem whether we use diagnostic equipment or not. We only charged you 20 minutes ($60) of diagnostic time which was used to make sure that we would be fixing the correct problem. Just like everyone else that works, I have to pay them for their time, which is why we can't do free diagnosis. Also, we are required by the State of California to verify tire pressures, which takes a few minutes and adds to the diagnostic time as well. A lot of shops require a minimum of an hour diagnostic time, which we do not. So again, I'm sorry you feel the price was unfair, but I stand by our pricing.
